I know it had been done, just don't remember seeing a clear "how to" on the matter. I have access to lathes etc so just need to know what needs to be made for the conversion.

Only seen pics too but it would of been nice with some messurements also. Only knows what it looks like and have to figure out the rest by my self.

Looks like the bearings are standard 15x10x4 bearings but with a outer thin ring to make the outer diameter wider. Think I can remove those when the bearings need replacement. If only someone could manufacture those...

Do you have the exact dimensions of the sleeves? May be able to assist - for a prototype at least.

Jesus! 0.88mm thick! Think my lathe may be a bit overkill - it's got a 5ft bed.

I'll make some enquiries though - any idea of material? Will ally do or would steel be better?

Yes a little bit thin.

It is steel but think ally will do fine. Non moving part and only for support. No real heat to speak of either that can make a difference. You are the guy with the lathe and the experience;)

Need access to a CNC machine for that - trying to turn down to .44mm by hand or eye is going to be nigh on impossible to get accurate time and time again.

Just for the record, 15.875mm is 5/8" diameter. So it's 5/8" bar drilled and reamed 15mm.

Yes of course I would be. Going to go with The bearings I have got cuz they are in good shape and then see how everything goes. Then it would be a good thing for me and others.

How many do you want/need?

I've contacted a local firm to see if they will do me a sample batch,and to get prices should it become an ongoing thing.

Just thought they may be able to do a bulk order and bring the price right down?

It all sounds amazing and from my part I will make the diff mod happen first with the stuff I have got. I have got the correct ball bearings right now. So I am good for the moment.
But if this is the only thing stopping more people to mod their B44s then we should investigate if there is a market for those sleeves to manufactured in larger quantities. Rather costly mod with two Durango diffs and bevelgears.

With the money I put into this Fyra-4 project I could of run three classes instead of the single one I do now so 20£ is no issue for me at this time. Anything to make the car all my own.

But if any of you guys make some research and can make a complete kit for anyone to buy, I think a lot of people would be interested.

Kit:
2x Durango gear diff
2x modified durango bevel gears
2x modified Associated cva axles
2x pins for bavelgears
4x 10x15x4mm ball bearings with sleeves

Really appreciate your efforts and I will be in touch regarding the sleeves cuz I will do some research on my own back in my play yard.

He he, that is why I wanted to be clearing about that in My last post. I wrote earlier in the thread that I got them bearings already;) thought for myself that must have gone not noticed but think they will be needed.

First of, thanks Hog. Got your Pm. Going to think about everything. Put the diff mod aside for the moment. Bought a spares kit from a friend really cheap and got 4 xtra diffs with it with ceramic balls and everything.

Have been testing the car a lot these past few days and have not felt The need to change anything on it setupwise. It just runs perfectly on our turf track. It jumps beautiful and have not corrected it ones in air. No need. It has got some amazing stearing in both low and high speed. Stable as hell and it is planted everywhere on The track. Really impressed with it.

The only modification I have made is to remove all aditional brass weights and found the balance to be 45/55 front to rear witch suprised me since everything in the car is moved forward. It only weighs in at 1610g.
Standard b44 seems to be heavy towards The rear. My car handled the rough section better than B44 even though it is lighter. Can push it hard even though grip level is very high.
