shock towers ?.. belts ? ..

ben 13-11-2007 10:12 PM

imo i think that the atomic carbon s4 is one of the toughest cars around. No belts to break like the xx4. I havent broken a shock tower yet.

xx4-nutter 13-11-2007 10:14 PM

i have to agree there with you Ben, my dads just got one and they are built like a brick lol!

I seem to remember you breaking another carbon component that is a bit bigger than a shock tower, wonder what it was... :wtf:

ben 13-11-2007 10:28 PM

well it was sorta broken when i got it but it was one of the old style chassis which curved up at the back. I dropped the xx4 simply for the reliability reasons.

the yok is a tough car!!! i must admit i personally have had shock towers made for me that are a couple of mm thicker and the out drives used to open up but yokomo have sorted that out! other than that i think ive broke a wishbone and that was due to driver error. i would say the 1 car 2 avoid though at the risk of affending ppl would be the xx4 (pretty brittle).

i race a xx4 and the car handles relly well and feels great to drive but the price for that is 5 front shock towers and one rear and 2 front belts and 2 front wishbones in around 5 meetings and parts are expensive and the car is weak

mw02veg 14-11-2007 10:55 PM

sorry ashley i must apologise ur always right everyone else is wrong my bad ;) numpty

zx5 with a few hop up is VERY strong. early models had weak shock towers but they have been beefed up about 3 months ago

pretty much all the cars these days are very strong (except the predator x10 is a heap of junk)

buy the shaft drive car if you want less maintenance though.

The Pred's one of the best cars i've ever drove. The shear amount of power it can put down is insane.
