Mikey...
the Durango has gone now... it looks like Ill be starting the season with my 501X (shelfer) @ Stotfold, with a view to picking up a CATSX3 in time for RHR national.

Anyone, would love get one purchased and sent away to be painted

Tamiya shells are available?? You could always be in my team??

chrispattinson 28-02-2011 12:23 PM

S1 or Carbon Fibre

So.. what chassis is recommended?

Im not bothered about the bling factor of CF...so what will be easier / quicker to drive on Astroturf tracks?

Will S1 make the car easier to drive as it wont be as nervous as the CF car (such as a B4's plastic chassis is preferred to graphite), or will the S1 flex generate too much grip on astroturf making the car more difficult to drive?

What will be the best chassis combo? I suspect S1 lower deck, CF towers and top deck? Can anyone who runs the current CAT coment? Thanks.

Do you have any idea is it possible to fit mi4cx diff to cat? Because it would be nice option to have gear diffs in cat. That came to my mind because Spec R will release mi4cx gear diff soon.

Chris, i dont think you get big bores with the s1 spec'd cars, plus i'd imagine the full fat one will be out first. Therefore you need it

CAT SX3 S1 version includes;
S1 Composite Material replaces all Carbon Fibre components.
All further spec's the same as Pro C/F Version.

MI4 have alloy outdirve and CAT have steel outdrives. Alloy outdrives wonīt go in off-road

donīt know shat come with spec r gear diff, guess alloy outdrive

Fairly confident that the Spec R Mi4 diff won't fit a cat, as the belt position is quite different.

Been a while since I raced off-road but I have pre-ordered an SX3... can someone tell me how much from an SX would carry over or is there too big a gap.

Thanks

My thoughts too as I'm looking at this too. S1 or c/f!

Seeing the shell in these pics it's even better than the press pics

Just should have kept my SX2 for the alloy parts etc!

It's a nice clean design, not over complex. Superb

Danny McGee 03-03-2011 01:14 PM

Yep, that will be mine. Was running it at Maritime last weekend. Shame there's no pictures about anywhere.

Seriously very very nice. Looking forward to returning to Schumacher for 4WD.

How many of the team are doing the Stotfold regional as it's just before the national?

Cool. Just hope I have one before the Stotfold regional! Decided Durango is just a stop gap as I'm going to stick with Schumacher again like I did for 18 months..

Perhaps SX3 drivers need some quiet testing at TORCH ;)
