It's a shame we didn't get a team together. The Keighley Clowns and our plastic rat of doom would have been THE contender for last place .

bigred5765 01-12-2010 05:27 PM

whats the weather like up there guys ?? not looking good at the mo round here, need updates if it will still run

Northy 01-12-2010 05:32 PM

Quite a lot of snow Carl but the roads are fine.

Hi All

Just to let you know that as of this moment in time the event is ON - will let you know if anything changes.

Just a few ideas/comments that might help all of us:-

1) Mains power leads will be run into the hall from power points that are not on the same trip switch as the computer
Hopefully it will be 1 per team, at worst 1 for 2 teams - it may help if team members were to bring some good quality extension leads
just in case more are needed.
2) Each team needs 1 main pit table for mechanicing, battery charging etc
3) Separate tables are planned to be supplied (school) for battery change overs - adjacent to the track area (not for working on).
4) If team drivers can bring other tables - just in case they are needed, it would help.
5) Please bring your own chairs etc.
6) CATERING
The club/model shop will be selling tea/coffee/cup-a-soup etc and cold drinks, crisps, choc bars etc during the event
(at reasonable prices).
There are a number of quite local fast food outlets, some that will deliver to the school (Steven Pierce was looking into this).
7) We will supply rubbish bags - please try and take your own rubbish home with you (we have limited resources re rubbish at the school)

AS IT STATES ON THE ENTRY FORM ALL CLUB INCOME FROM THE EVENT (LESS COSTS) WILL GO TO THE LISTED CHARITIES.

Hope you have a good event - Regards, Derek Bradby

Think that can go down as the "i'll-fated post of doom".

Still was a great experience and can't wait to come back next year (but with a 4wd!) . We may have finished last but we did so in true Shambolic style - including a battery change 2 minutes before the end :woot::woot::woot::woot::woot:
