why is the trf 4wd's so dam expensive?
I can get a b44 for $310us, kyosho zx5 fs for $250 at close out price, and the schumacher for a little bit more than the b44 or a db01r for nearly half the price. |
- B44 is a lot older and AE's other cars (TC5, RC8, B4,...) are cheap as well. They aim at a slightly lower price range.
- Schumacher is crap, so it has to be cheap to sell it. - Kyosho and DB-01R are made out of plastic. |
More alloy so there isnt really much extra needed for an event so your paying for a hopped out car out the box and yes things will break but a lot less than any other current buggy maker. Pity the plastics are not so good but they can be replaced with alloy. The 511 is worth the cash and you wont be disapointed.

You have to pay for quality..........
If you think the TRF is expensive why not get a durango, you don't even get a ball diff!! |

Silly, some of the larger US online hobbyshops show it as discontinued on their website, like tower.
Maybe it's true. |
I don't believe its discontinued... after everybody has been out of stock for so long, Speed Tech Rc picked up the TRF511, now I see Stormer Hobbies will be carrying it soon.. I don't think they (most hobby shops and lhs') sell enough kits for them to be largerly profitable items to stock consistantly.
|
They may be holding back the parts so after the Euro's they will release a TRF511e (or something). Could be a kit with all the bling bits included like the blue turnbuckles, front and rear alloy hubs, lipo tray, body/wing, ceramic diff balls etc ............ who knows? ;)

So i guess youll be buying a few then
