But I guess I've been spoilt by racing 12th for 6 years now. Still the esc can get wet indoors if you spill your drink on it:D :D :D |

The guts is put in a case and it's then just siliconed in place, no chance of water integration, nevermind with them being uber powerful. |

Thankfully it dried out again. |
Nah man, I aint risking a blown speedo I njust shelled £180 out for, its taken me weeks to save for it and I still owe another £45 on it.
I like the idea of racing indoor at teesside saturday! |

Aye, they wont do it. Sunday is meant to be better but knowing us itll be just as bad.
Dont see why, Id certainly rather race in a warm indoor race where the grips there than outdoors in the rain, freezing with blown speedos everywhere. people were angry at kiddy supposedly and I think it could be avoided, but, thats my view. |
When I said I didn't have a waterproof (resistent) ESC - that doesn't mean I'm not up for racing in mad conditions. It's a good laugh is a mudbath.

Hopefully not off thread but I've just fitted a new brushless setup in my 2wd Losi and I'm a tad reluctant to blow it up in the wet.How will we know if the Regional on Saturday is still on? If the weather up there is as bad as it's been here then I would guess it would be a washout, though I hope not. Fingers crossed:)

Just a reminder, it is an open feild we will be running in, so there won't be any puddles to go splashing through. And I would know i have been could out there for about half an hour, in terential rain trapped under a couple of trees in the middles of the feild.:)
Good times.:D :D :D Anyway, i will be going down no matter if it raining a bit. an dit will will not be that eaisy for me to just pack up and leave as my mum is dropping me off, and will have to come and pick me up. It helps that i only live in Ingleby Barwick though.;) |

no you cant but is it better to race 2 less rounds or blow up a £150 speedo.
Im simply stating what I would like to do, not forcing my opinion on anyone |
At the end of the day you have to make your own call on the weather.
If you don't want to run in the wet then don't. And don't listen to the people who say you're soft because of it. I know that I can't afford to replace the speedo and receiver in my cars. If other people can, or if getting one more set of scores is worth more than the cost of a speedo to them then leave them to it! I made the mistake of running at the Batley regional last year, simply because I had driven so far I thought I should give it a try. Thankfully my electronics survived, but I totally cooked one motor, failed to finish all but one of my races, drove home with jeans soaked up to my crotch, and had a thoroughly crap time! So now I don't run in the wet. I race RC for fun, getting soaked to the skin and blowing stuff up is not my idea of it! |
