Ditto for me too.
The offer is there for any section (as Dave's is too, probably)

I think my views are obvious lol. What scares me, is that I'm turning into a grumpy old man.....at the age of 24!

Also would it be too much trouble to ask that those who post in the wanted section at least put their budget for the required item, instead of "cheap as possible" Cheap as possible generally means trouble and your probably going to have to buy another in a few weeks time.
And if you could, reply to everyone who sends an offer via a pm.

Personally I'd like to see a ban on the 'Look at my stuff on ebay' adverts where there is no indication of what's being offered before clicking on the ebay link . If I wanted to be looking at random crap on ebay... I'd be looking at ebay, not oOple ;)

dibble34 24-08-2010 06:44 PM

I think paypal gift requests should be banned as well, instantly looks dodgy to me.

Evsie 24-08-2010 07:17 PM

I agree with the sentiments above of not putting a price or pictures up; the threads should be deleted if there are no pictures or prices in the advert.

I preferred the old system where replies were allowed to be made and you could update the thread far more accurately and as up to date as you could.

This would avoid PM'ing 6 days later assuming the item was still for sale as the thread hasn't been updated only to find it's been sold on the 1st day.

The amount of replies and kind of replies should be policed with regard to needless bumping or spamming.

Just my tuppence worth. ;)

Hi folks

over the next week or so I'll be adding the following to any adverts I spot or are reported in the vain hope that user's will comply

Pictures & Prices Please

pm Admin when ready to comply and thread will be unlocked

Once complied with this text wil be removed.

don't go mad with reporting the posts though, as we need time to be online but most should be dealt with in a day or two

peetbee 24-08-2010 10:24 PM

Hurray!! Good move

It is very easy to fully edit your posts, just click 'edit' and change the text. If you 'go advanced' with youir edit you can change the title.

By who?
Glenn does the most modertion of this section as he regularly uses it (a few others help out), but we dont have the time to do it fully. It's all explained in the 'why can't I post' post in the section.

So.
Very little has changed. The threads are still mostly without pictures. There are still threads with paypal gift only. The worst part? There are people I know are trustworthy and are still not sticking to the rules.
The reason for this seems obvious to me - it's simply a too busy section for the mods to keep up with.
The answer? More mods. Many offers have been made, so maybe a few need to be taken up?

I work on my PC from home and have oOple on my spare desktop almost all the time, id be prepared to help moderate the section. Glenn does a fantastic job, but its a lot of work to keep on top of, as well as a lot of time.

This post is a major problem to me. The poster is not only reputable, but an oOple mod who it appears can't be arsed to follow the new guidelines. Why should anyone else?

Im not sure if this is possible but could posts be stopped automatically if they dont have pictures in the same way they are stopped if you dont put a title.
