Hi Roger,
Can I confirm your link position on the front caster block on the B6.1?
In the manual, the setup at the back says outer hole, but in the assembly instructions, they use the inner hole on the caster block (ALA B6).
Which one did you use?

Thanks
Mark

Inner hole on castor block Mark.

4mm trail is the same as B6

3mm trail will make the car feel more reactive / twitchier as it gives more initial steering. Should be good on tight indoor tracks, especially those on slippery floor where any other way of gaining initial turn in would result in a lot of understeer through the middle of the corner.

Try this setup as a starting point in those conditions ... was able turn inside and/or drive around the outside of everything ;)

If you need anything more from the car then let me know, happy to help.

No doubt the B6.1D setups will evolve through the great British "summer"

2 leftover bearings

Did everyone else have 2 bearings leftover after building their b6.1 or have I missed something?

matt 03-05-2018 06:00 PM

They are the bearings used in the ball diff.

jrenton 05-05-2018 07:56 AM

Thanks, was a little worried

matt 05-05-2018 08:11 AM

Apparently it's one bag of bearings for both kits.

My first outing with my b6.1d was great really enjoyed it and it went well on a small slippy track , unfortunately I broke a rear arm and subsequently found out I can't get hold of any just yet , is this common with associated ?

I'm the same regarding the rear wishbone, I am wondering if you can use the b6 rear wishbone with the 67mm driveshafts (the manual says they are an option part) or is the b64 rear arm the same geometry?

dazp83 14-05-2018 09:22 AM

I got some rear arms for the b6.1 from dms racing

Bells 14-05-2018 04:09 PM

Really ! Definitely b6.1 ? , there showing no stock now , I’ve fitted b6 ones to mine but I had to Dremel it to clear the spur gear and it’s different geometry to the new ones but I least I can run it now

dazp83 14-05-2018 07:55 PM

Yeah definitely b6.1, might be worth asking them if they have any.

Just out of curiosity, where are you all breaking them ??? at the hinge pins or at the inserts ?

Elation 15-05-2018 12:08 PM

Near the hinge pin for me, was worth the crash though as I was going for a fast lap haha

Hinge pin , to be honest it was a big hit on a solid object
