Would Anybody have or tried B5m and YZ-2 on astro turf?, what's the impresions between two of them on the same surface, which one would have more grip?. Asking because I have b5m used on astro and thinking about change to yz-2.

I came from a B5M when made the switch to the YZ-2 and haven't looked back. While the B5M was comfortable to drive after removing the Redworkshop LR gearbox and adding a lot of other option parts, it was way slower than the Yokomo and was nowhere as good on astro. Although I did like the LR B5M on carpet, I never came to terms with it on astro. Do yourself a favour and get rid of the B5M. ;)

I really like what You just said!. This is what I wanted to hear from the racer who Swiched from b5m to yz-2. Maybe I should listen to You!.
But in meantime I found this:

This is somekind hybrid between b5m platform with yz2 gearbox!.
Guys what do You think about this, is anybody came across something like that?.

I used to have the Redworkshop Low Rider gearbox in my B5M, which made it better for carpet as already mentioned. After doing such a conversion, you will still have the plastic front end and B4-style steering geometry, which are no good for high-grip situations and therefore will no longer be found on AE's upcoming B6(D) platform. Some manufacturers just need a little longer, Shin Adachi had already incorporated a modern front end design in the Kyosho RB6. ;)

I think I am convinced already to yz-2, I was reading somewhere about outstanding quality of parts in Yokomo models which remains me tamiya's models!.
If I could only sell main b5m and b5m lite :(

Can somebody tell me if the DT gearbox fits the Bmax2 without drilling?
