I like this quote:

Moving away from the drivers, Vicky Storey is a true hero. I sat next to Jimmy for 4 hours on the trip to Tiverton, I nearly went mad, Vicky has to put up with him full time, it’s madness.

Northy 13-11-2006 08:46 PM

I would like to add that having a full time Jimmy is most fun! It's not a matter of putting up with him, I am crazy with him :jimmeh

A special thanks goes to Dan Greenwood and your mate. i have never spoken to dan before and after watching my qualifying and seeing me struggle with the art of jumping gave me some tips, thanks Dan.

This would never of happened in touring cars and i cant wait till the next round, but i do need a hell of a lot more practice.
Snap! too right!
you lot have to be one of the friendliest buch i've raced against.

I too have to say that being away from off road for so long is a bit of a ulture shock getting used to the controls again. but as you say driving on road for 10yrs plus, you tend to loose touch with how to drive!....properly anyway!

trust me to be in the same heat as the photographer though!:(

lol, shell looked ace mate, one of the nicest ive seen up close.
You looked good in your final but those front shocks seemed shockingly soft! seemed to work alright for you though.

telboy 13-11-2006 10:21 PM

haha, yeh. stripped em down when i got home and its got no.1 pistons in all 4 shocks. so it must've had thicker oil in the rear shocks?! cos the rear def' felt stiffer than the front:confused: wierd.

I've changed oil for now and put some substatially thicker in the front, until i get hold of some different pistons.

It was better in the final though. i had got wider front on than others so i choped some of the spikes off and it felt much better.

thanks anyway.

jimmy 13-11-2006 10:25 PM

Does it not come with any extra pistons ?
how mean!

The rear had softer springs on so it would have more of a damped feeling I guess. #2 pistons and 40wt I'd go with in the front, #1 and 30 in the rear - I think thats a good starting point and personally I never really alter much from there.

PaulRotheram 13-11-2006 10:30 PM

try get some number two pistons for the front, and run 30 or 35 weight oil depending on preference. I've been running 30 and the car has been VERY good. But it is all down to preference, some prefer thicker oil to smooth the car out. Somthing to try for you!

telboy 13-11-2006 10:41 PM

thank guys,
i'll try various things at the next meeting. if i can get hold of some pistons.

no jimmy it doesn't come with any extra pistons. I thought that was strange too.

cheers

PaulRotheram 13-11-2006 10:54 PM

was the kit new? im 100% sure my kit came with some! how odd.

Front/ #1 piston 35 oil 1 limitor
Rear/ #2 piston 30 oil 0 limitor

This seems to be the 'standard' setup many use and don't change from.

jimmy 13-11-2006 10:56 PM

Its a RTR b4 he has paul. But even my Atech BX1 came with alternate pistons.. thinking about it, my RTR hong nor came with alternate pistons too.

I did have millions of the things kicking about, i will have a look for you. you just need a couple of #2's so someone must have some spare

telboy 13-11-2006 11:03 PM

aah, cheers jimmy, thats awfully kind of ya.

just had another look in box to make sure i wasn't having a 'man look' and, no these are no spare pistons.....cart loads of sticker sheets for ae and lrp but no pistons.
