First National A was at Tiverton (Rd1) in 1998 making me 15 at the time, Qualified 6th after battling with the legend that was Jamie Booth all day - This was with a Losi XX Kinwald edition.

I made my F1 in 1997 during my first year of Nat's.

Highlight of that year for me was setting TQ in Rd1 at Springfield at the 2nd national that year, the track was Ellis' home track and a bit hard work from what i remember, a strange bombhole with a really dodgy exit/jump.

Funny how you can remember things if you think hard enough!

Duh, Craig you have made the indoor British champs finals A's, and can be classed as a national A, including a pole here and there from you.

I would have said a National A was one of the rounds of the outdoor National series, not meetings run to National rules

Like a few others on here, I was a late bloomer in off-road...
Made my first National A in 12th in '98 at Chesterfield but in off-road my first A final was Bury St Edmunds in 2002 (or maybe 2003), qualifying 4th and finishing 3rd with a XXX. (I even TQ'd the final round - I was WELL chuffed).
That was at the fine age of 27. Got F1 for the first time in 2000 - and then promptly lost it again the next year as I was driving a Fireblade (oh the shame...)

I am unsure what its like now, but the indoor finals was basically a national, just on carpet or indoor flooring.

You must remember as all the F1s turned up (team Kyosho, Team Yokomo, Traxxas, Schumacher etc etc) and pretty much won the events all the time, so I kindof would count it.

Craig made pretty much all of the A's with exception of the first event held in Ellesmere port so I reckon thats quite a few for him.

That was my first too. to be fair it was also my first ever national! Qualified 2nd in 2wd, finished 2nd too. My equal best ever national result was my first ever one.....:(

Think I was 15 or 16 depending on when it was in the year.
