No Stock at HC

I don't seem to be able to find them anywhere in the world at the moment :o

DCM 07-11-2006 11:33 AM

good grief, Tamiya must be on 'back order' then, ebay and tamiyaclub might be your best option then Rob.

Have you tried one of the Hong Kong suppliers like rcmart, stellamodels or rc-mushroom ? They're dirt cheap, offer good service and always carry a lot of Tamiya, 3racing, GPM, ... stuff

DCM 07-11-2006 04:38 PM

I didn't check rc-mushroom, got their web adress?

Rob Fitzgerald 07-11-2006 06:56 PM

Not tried rc mushroom ? yet but am getting pretty crabby now. I have the car now (arrived today) and the RW layshaft but can't get any flippin driveshafts - absaloutely typical Tamiya - except now I cant find any world wide.

For such a recent and high profile car thats a bit shocking.

Are there no alternatives ? I know Square do them and YEAH RACING also - I have no idea about quality though (yet).

Is it the Impact that you got Rob ?

I have a bunch of alloy bits on the way for mine, I called RW and Emailed but got no answer so will get the Tamiya slipper and just suffer the tooth noise with 48dp pinions.

I buy sometimes at rcmart. Good service and HUGE product range.

The Japanese gent known as Grahoo, has his early release Keen Hawk up on Tamiyaclub. It actually looks really good.

Try a guy on ebay called jr-rc he breaks kits up and sells the parts, I got a full bearing set off him for about 4 quid :D Also if you're after hardened diff oudrives that don't break up, look on the 3racing web site, I ordered 2 full sets off them at the same time as my chassis and towers, they're a lot nicer than the tamiya stock ones and are the same type front and rear (although still specific to each end) and have lightening holes milled in them.

Dont want to beat a dead horse but is the KEEN a cheaper version of the DF3 like shocks and such ????

DCM 19-12-2006 08:04 AM

no, it appears to be a DF03 with a different shell and wing, and what a cracking shell it is too!!!

jimmy 19-12-2006 08:13 AM

Yeah, I really like that shell

DCM 19-12-2006 10:51 AM

I think I might just order up the shell....

Elliott Hopkins 19-12-2006 12:14 PM

*bleurgh* :)

Sadly it's growing on me. I'd prefer a hybrid of the two. A smoother DI with a top air intake.

Elliott.

The shell is great, the one of Tamiyaclub looks better than the one at the start of this thread.. its one of those shells that looks great at certain angles.. By the way, I sold my DI kit in the end... shipped it unopened after selling it on ebay... it is for someones Xmas, so i hope they give it a good home. A buggy is for life, not just for Christmas.
