I would have thought you could leave it connected as long as its secured in the car properly, a little unsure though

Interesting! with the bluetooth module you could change things on your iPhone pretty easily while still stood on the rostrum! Would be interesting to know if that's possible.

minty 25-11-2013 03:23 PM

Although not in english this video shows someone using the bluetooth adapter. The adapter looks bigger than i thought it would be. Also i dont think its as simple as having the bluetooth on all the time and making changes on the fly, you may have to press something on the Bluetooth module first

I have the Bluetooth module in my tm2 it make's setting the speedo up a lot easier than the program box and it connects quickly but when you are finished you have to tudrn the speedo off as mine stays in set up mode but still find it a great bit of kit

Does this ESC get hot without fan on 6.5t or 7.5t in 2wd buggy? Im running very limited space in my buggy.

this esc seem decent for money.

neallewis 08-12-2013 07:46 PM

ran mine today for first time in my 2wd, 7.5 tekin gen2. used fan first time out, ESC came off cool, so I removed it for later heats. heatsink was coming off warm to touch, but able to hold finger on it with ease. not hot at all. stock settings nothing fancy. I must say it felt very smooth and good to drive. very happy with it. I may get another for my new 4wd.

Just a note guys.... If you happen to crash during a race and break you car and the marshall doesn't shut it off, or if you don't want to remove the body for the switch you can from your radio... Hold the brakes for more then 3 seconds.. :) Give it a try

Swell 13-12-2013 07:55 AM

Thats cool (if your aware of the feature)

Do you know if you can turn it back on the same way?

Nope you cant, it can only be switched on using the power button on the speedo.

Darrin70 13-12-2013 11:09 PM

This is a great esc, and it is only getting better with software updates etc.. Other then a plastic case, in my books this speedo is as good as any over priced top brand out there... I even bought HobbyKing's Turnigy TrackStar GenII 120ampesc which is the same esc minus color and heatsink.. Program box and software is the same, also has that cool shut off feature..

Does anyone know if these will take hobbywing firmware?

safk 06-01-2014 05:36 PM

[QUOTE=DynaMight;818196]Yeah you can use the program box to connect the ESC by USB to a PC, but I have found it a little temperamental, sometimes the software doesnt pick it up. Once it does, it works fine but just takes some playing. The Skylink works great so I tend to use that if I'm plugging the ESC into the PC.

Do you need to have it connected to a LiPo too? The diagram in the program box doesn't show it connected to a battery but the diagram in the esc instructions does. :bored:
I have tried plugging into my PC without a battery connected and the switch on the esc flashes green but nothing appears on the display of the programme box.

Can you use a HW program box?

I couldnt get mine to work properly without a LiPo plugged in, like you said it does light up but thats as far as I got.

Think it will have to go back as sadly not enough room in my DEX210 for the ESC and the array of caps

Use longer wires to locate the caps where to can fit them. Or use the hobbywing two cap array.

neallewis 06-01-2014 11:21 PM

double post

The wires would end up being about 200mm long would that be OK?
Would you have the link to the correct hobbywing item or is there only one type ? If that's the case can I just re-use the two cap array from my speed passion citrix stock ESC?
I apologise if these are dumb questions but you may have guessed that electronics are not my specialist subject.
