Just wondering what people's thoughts on aluminum pistons?

Not sure, any rubbing against the side of the shock body could cause them to pick up or leave tiny fleck's floating about in the oil

Some 1/8th scale big bores (tapered) fresh off the machine

how you getting on with the Durango big bores?

coleman758 27-01-2013 11:00 PM

I was fortunate enough to be sent some Kyosho BB pistons to try,

I must say they look fantastic, the machining is as good as Kit, If not better.
They fit like a glove!

Also they are very easy to work with & drill.

I have built them up and they feel really smooth on the bench,
Il be testing them over the week.

I will give some more feedback when I've raced the car, although I foresee no issues!!

Thanks!!

Ok after some fighting with my PC I finally managed to get this picture up.

Do you believe this is possible to not only make the piston but also cut out the holes?

The below are traxxas TRX1 shock pistons alongside one associated piston. I would like to have the exact hole sizes from the traxxas pistons cut out on a blank Associated (not big bore) shock piston

Im after one hole set of four, a two hole set of four and three hole set of four. Please let me know if this is possible. Thanks.

Yes mate they are possible to make but I will have to either have one to copy or a good accurate drawing of what you want also may take a while for me to get onto a machine with a C axis to mill the slots
