In the middle of the race I was pulling faster laps than he was though. Its just at the very end he wasnt making that many mistakes and I made a couple. I could have won, but just didnt care.;)

Wes and Rudd beat this guy every weekend, so he probably felt good to win one race, because he never wins.

Brian,

exactly this kind of thing is what irritates the crap out of people. You beat two kids in newcomer class and got beaten by a guy running a truck not because he was running a lipo battery but because you probably drove like you did in the video. And then you say you came second because you didn't want to win... Do you seriously believe that yourself because I have my doubts.
I'm sticking with my opinion I wrote to you a couple of days ago. Learn to drive and set up a car that is easy to drive and then progress to something quicker.

And stop running with scissors. It's painfull to watch. You practically poke your eye out with every post

A 4 year old? :(

That's bloody young!

Lee 10-06-2008 06:27 PM

If he was any older he would of beaten brian though:thumbsup:

Just as I thought. Racing in the beginners class with an high powered 4wd buggy. I started with an 4wd electric too but quickly realized that I needed to work on my driving skills. One of the best things I did was purchase an Losi XXXT-MF2 and start racing in the 19T truck class. After two seasons of racing it taught me how to drive smoother with less mistakes and use more throttle control. It really has paid off. I recently placed 7th in the A-main in 4wd mod at a large event on a really difficult course with very experienced drivers (some were sponsered too). I also made the a-main in 19T electric truck too and placed 5th. It was my consistancy and driving that allowed me to place this well. Not how fast of a motor or some special buggy that I had. Also, I was running a 11 turn brushed motor too. It was my driving and setup that made all the difference. So maybe you should consider some of the advise the people on here are giving you. Also, why do you have two of the same type of buggies? The B44 is just a capable as the 501X. It is the driver that makes the difference. Once you move to the 501X for a trophy race you will not be any faster and more than likely slower than you are with the B44. That is because you will not be use to it. Stick with one buggy and learn the in and outs of it.

The B44 is a world champ and the 501x is not, is the reason you said this.
Your AE biased. Well, sometimes it's better to have a backup plan in case
one car breaks the other car can come out of hiding....
I rather finish the race then win it at this point.
At the last 2 point series races I wasnt able to attend, because I
had issues with both cars and they had to be repaired.
Luckly that stuff was under warrenty and just traded my old novak motor
and esc for a faster motor and new esc.
I'm not that bad anymore, but in jan on that video was my first BIG race
with the B44. I DONT CRASH THAT OFTEN ANYMORE.
Wes told me today it's the way the car was setup, not my driving.

I have driven my 501x and it's much eaiser to drive than my B44 is.
But why race a 500 dollar car, when you have a cheaper car you can run
that the shops stock parts for?
I got those extra 501x parts so I dont have issues later.

I fell sorry for the nitro racers, since gas prices have or are gonna skyrocket soon
Nitro methane is going to 35 dollars a gallon.

Are you sure that this is good backup plan? Drive another brand car that behave different and you can't even do good setup on your primary car?
It's true that I have backup car too, but it's still Losi XX4 not AE B44, HB D4, Kyosho Lazer or even Losi XXX4 because all of them needs another driving habits and in the middle of race it's stupid to change to another car. I really think that you should try truck class or buy another B44/X501 and sell X501/B44.

I wanted a XX4, I like the fact that the motor is up front and stuff.
But after browsing ebay parts are hard to get for it.

I have been racing a B44 for 5 months, 2 1/2 months I was racing T4's
and other 2wd trucks. I really dont want another r/c I have 13.
Why run a B44 or other 4wd buggy when everyone around me is running nitro or a T4? doesnt make a whole lota sense to me, I guess they are wanting me to blow more money on something I dont even need.

I like staying in one class and getting good with that class, before going into another class.

I do plan on running my monster truck as soon as the HVMAXX gets here.
I was a whole lot better in monster truck than I was in 4wd modified.
In 2005, they jumped down my throat saying
"IF no electric monster trucks show up, then your not gonna be racing"
That was 2 or so years ago, then when I got the B44 I thought I could race it everywhere, and people would be interested in 4wd buggy, but
that has diminished in my local racing area. 2 people in my hometown
have a B44, the others are either nitro or T4 owners.

And the other B44 owner said the B44 is made for indoors, not outdoors on loose dirt. :/

I am gonna be tottally pissed off If I get an e-revo and I cannot race that either....

I think most are so jelous that I have these 2 4wd buggies, they think I dont deserve them.
I have been racing for 6 years, 3 years in monster truck, 3 years in 4wd buggy.
I have 2 trophies from when I raced an e-maxx, and got killed by revo drivers.
They are both 3rd place but still....

It's not that hard to find actually - I'm in middle europe and it's no problem to order parts from shops in USA so what should stop you to buy parts if you live there?

That's question I don't have answer for. Maybe it'll be really better to return back to trucks. I really think that should improve your driving skills.

You have electric moster truck races there? Or you'll just be bashing it? Number of 4wd drivers was bad here too, but now it's getting better. Last year there were about 4 4wd in country. This year it's much better and that's why I decided to go with 4wd again too.

It's true, but it drives outdoors good too. At least here in Slovakia we don't have any USA or UKlike tracks as we race here with 1/8 nitro and you can see it on track.

I wish I could ran my B44 against the 8th scales....but they dont
think it would be a good idea. I guess because I'll be kicking the nitro's
so bad they'd punk me out on the stand and start a riot.

Muscles in particular is a nitro freak, he would try to kick my ass.
He cannot stand electric period, and even makes stupid jokes about my
B44 and 501x. "What's up B-Fag"

It's just stupid little things like this you have to put with.

Muscles is the guys nickname, but I made fun of his popeye the sailer man body...lol
"I'm Muscles and I eat Spinach".......lol
Here's his rediculous paint scheme.:p

Im glad i came into work early to read this.

BMag at his best

Dont go to bed Bmag, stay up and keep us company

Brian, have you ever been wrong?

Im guessing No

lochness42 11-06-2008 09:25 AM

For me it was great fun before my last examination during my first year at university.
Racing againist eights? You are joking? You can't race againist trucks and another 1:10 4wds and you think you can make it againist nitro? Good luck then (and good support of spare parts).

Lee 11-06-2008 09:34 AM

It is hard work racing against the 8th scale cars, the 10ths are quicker round the track but the 8th guys make it hard work, you have to go off line to pass them and then they land on top of you. Just ask rich lowe :(

Brian you should be murdering the 2wd cars around the track with your 4wd ones.

This is because it's too light for the 1:8 OR rules. And it's electric. Just like you of course are not allowed to run a 4WD car in a 2WD class. Do you understand? Mixing classes just creates a mess. That's why the classes are there in the first place.

Oh! And you just won't be able to hear your car at all. Which makes it a lot more difficult to drive.

I really don't think you outta dis anyones paint scheme. Nor physical appearance

As Sparrow so brilliantly put it: Stop running with scissors!!! LOL!

You said you've been doing truck electric for 3 years. With a start field of minimum 10 drivers. And no drivers under the age of 10. What is your best result so far in the truck class?

Lee 11-06-2008 10:43 AM

It was in practice and rich had built up a new B4 for the event, there was a large double on the far left of the track whick probably had a 10ft gap peak to peak on the ramps, if i remember rightly someone had crashed in front of rich causing him to slow down when he landed and along came a truggy and splat.

I dont think the car was damaged but his brand spanking and very sexy new shell was nicely creased :(

lochness42 11-06-2008 11:02 AM

Well I envy you your opportunities to race on such big races. I'm still racing only in Slovakia because of lack of finance - It's only enough to race here but nothing more.
