Not that i dont like the idea mate, Just seems abit much! LOL

I take it you dont race indoor?

migsy 29-12-2008 09:11 PM

what i race

hi gary.

I usually do indoor saloons using a 10.5 brushless but the novelty of the saloons are getting a bit boarin for me. buggys are good indoors but most of the lads i race these days take their cars off if your in the lead of them!!! LOL
i love the off-road season you can ragg the buggys around the track hunting down your arch enemy, in my case its my best mate coz he says the pred is a pile of shit. what he does'nt realise is that i've ftd more meetings in one season than what he has in 12 years. LOL

IF YOU HEAR OF A MAMBA MAX ESC FOR SALE, LET ME KNOW.

Garry Driffill 29-12-2008 09:16 PM

LOL! - Ok then..

Try fitting the 10.5 to youre Pred?

7 TURN MOD.

ok a 7 turn is very quick, and i admit it would be a little quicker than my 8x2. if theres 1 thing i learnt in this game, it was to keep your cool until you get an oppurtunity to pass. :D

tires.

if i do indoor 4wd with my pred, i run schu mini pins at the rear,
and schu mini-pins at the front.
i'll stiffen up the car with roll bars all round and just set the slipper as needed. we do need a few weights added but thats no prob really. ;)

The discussion got me curious.

What are the brushless/brushed conversions? Approximately...

I used to run a 6.5 in my x11. Now I'm 5.5 but ate my rear diff (back to 6.5 apparently...) What's that in brushed? Any idea? I ran a 10x1 once, felt slower than a 10.5.

And blitzboy, awesome paintjob. I may have to copy it :D

Garry Driffill 30-12-2008 12:40 PM

I used to run a Checkpoint 10x2 in my X11 and it was like a missile!

What was youre gearing?

migsy 30-12-2008 01:16 PM

gearing

with the 8x2 i run 16/73. it's really quick but you do need the head on for it.

hi mate. I was told the 10.5 brushless was made to match the 19 turn brushed.

I think I geared around 9:1 (I don't know much about gearing brushed but I know they should be lower than brushless). Motor may have been bad as well. It was used.
