Andy that is amazing, I was going along the lines of CD`s comment, how do you make it look so real?

I imagine you have to have an eye for this sort of stuff and play about with stuff as well.

Yep, I mainly browse the Vray forum. There's so much to read on there it's hardly ever worth posting a question as you can always find the answers ! I'm still playing around with working a a 'linear workflow' but it really makes my head hurt when I read all the posts on the subject and it's a totally different way of working and thinking !
I've seen your avatar on there before and visited your site. Great work by the way :)

Vray is amazing, it's a total science in itself. I've got a couple of people at work learning it from scratch and they are really struggling with it, as I guess everyone who's ever used it has. Still Max & Vray are a great combination.

yeah LWF :-) It's not that hard in fact, I've got a tutorial about it on my site! Since I use it, i will never go back. One example is hdri, ever wondered why the lighting is so super high contrast and way too much coloured? I make hdri's myself, and now finally with gamma 2.2 the lighting and reflections look like they're supposed to look.

Your work looks amazing I must say...

im currently doing a Ma in automotive design where i use alias (autodesk), any one use that. i would love to use these skills to design bodyshells for rc cars. my main focus is on manual renders and sketching which design firms look for first in ur portfolio. i will try and get some work up soon......Andy Fraser

Hi Andy,
By Alias do you mean Maya? I use Maya at work but 3DS Max at home.

Ezymango 14-05-2008 02:56 PM

they are made by the same peeps but alias is more tuned to automotive and product design, where maya is for games and 3d art, but they do cross over.

Ezymango 14-05-2008 02:58 PM

i think its just called autodesk now
