Just before hitting submit, i deleted the citing of Condons reference to the ploppy pink Yok, its successors and my continual chase. On top of that - Mr Allan's pic made me dig out my bulldog shell. It's much better looking on the car. With a bit of luck you'll get a close look as it makes its pass:woot: |

Nice wires!
What kind of type is it? |
Just finished painting my new Pro-line Bulldog shell a slight change to my normal design,I think it turned out well.

DEX410 build
I've taken delivery of my DEX410 this week so been steadily building it up hopefully to go racing with it this Tuesday at Maritime. Here are some pics so far
Ive changed out the kit spur and pads for an RW spur gear and AE high torque pads http://i305.photobucket.com/albums/nn215/jo90uk/004.jpg Installed the Tresrey rear GB holder http://i305.photobucket.com/albums/nn215/jo90uk/010.jpg ..and steering arm along with post and server saver nut http://i305.photobucket.com/albums/nn215/jo90uk/009.jpg Installed the machine cut drive gears on the diffs http://i305.photobucket.com/albums/nn215/jo90uk/007.jpg Made up a carbon radio tray (not perfect, but does the job well) http://i305.photobucket.com/albums/n...o90uk/b003.jpg Took a bit of time deciding on how to get the wiring neat as possible, decided this way round with the speedo works best for me, and it all fits ni neat and tiday, clear of the drive shaft too. http://i305.photobucket.com/albums/n...o90uk/b006.jpg Installed the alloy rear GB holders http://i305.photobucket.com/albums/nn215/jo90uk/011.jpg Bit more Tresrey, this time the hex adapters front and rear http://i305.photobucket.com/albums/n...o90uk/b008.jpg ...and the shock spring adjusters http://i305.photobucket.com/albums/n...o90uk/b012.jpg So far its now about 75% built. Will finish it off this weekend hopefully in time for some 4wd fun this Tuesday. |

Hardest electronics install ever!
My mid-season switch to the DEX210...:
http://i65.photobucket.com/albums/h2...P8682Small.jpg http://i65.photobucket.com/albums/h2...P8685Small.jpg http://i65.photobucket.com/albums/h2...P8687Small.jpg http://i65.photobucket.com/albums/h2...P8689Small.jpg I knew the chassis was a tight fit, but I'm running pretty much the largest 1/10 ESC and receiver out there... the ESC doesn't even fit in the sidepods without dremeling, and with dremeling there is still no room for the capacitor! So I decided to give up the easy weight balance adjustment that the shorty provides to mount it in front of the shorty pack and move the ESC to the centerline of the chassis. I made a custom (3mm) lexan battery plate which prevents the battery crashing into the ESC by adding a small screws that points downwards. A low-profile fan from the Losi Xcelorin system just fits under the shell, and now I'm just hoping this, in combination with some holes in the shell, will provide sufficient cooling. I'm also having some wheel compatability problems. Coming from a TRF201 that uses 2mm pins, not 1.6mm, I have to drill up the axles a bit (I don't really have the funds to switch to new wheels as well). ...It better be worth all the effort! |

Hmm, looks familiar :D
You're right on the amount of space: For the lay-out Durango has chosen, why not make it just a few mm wider? Today I tested this one at the Club track. Have some more testing to do since I was more comfortable with the dim chassis but it's definitively the one to try for the next atro track. (if my two additional shorty's have arrived :eh?:) |
Nice stuff Eric! What are the odds  First we both drive a TRF, and now be both pick the same electronics layout on our next cars!
As you've driven with it already... how did the layout work for you? :) |
To keep this one on topic I've sent you a pm

Hi everyone,
after a long absence I am back here with some picture of my DESC. I must say I really missed this forum, the threads and everything but I went thru a not very shiny period. Here I got a couple of pictures of my Team Durango Desc410r. http://i536.photobucket.com/albums/f...9/resize12.jpg http://i536.photobucket.com/albums/f...ize5_00000.jpg http://i536.photobucket.com/albums/f...002resize9.jpg http://i536.photobucket.com/albums/f...ize7_00000.jpg http://i536.photobucket.com/albums/f...size_00000.jpg http://i536.photobucket.com/albums/f...ize8_00000.jpg http://i536.photobucket.com/albums/f...ze21_00000.jpg http://i536.photobucket.com/albums/f...ize3_00000.jpg http://i536.photobucket.com/albums/f...urve_00000.jpg And here I have also a link: http://youtu.be/7yJc4yp2o_Q for a video that I uploaded on Youtube a few days ago. (available in HD 1080p). But I must warn you, its 14 minutes long and its not the usual Racing Track Video, its a bit different. Its about an application that search for the Most Powerful Desc on the Planet He! He.! .. Its more a joke than anything else, but with many effects, music, and some car action here and there. I just want to explain why the video is not full of car action, I wanted to do a car action video, but the weather was very bad then the first day I drove this car, I lost a rear arm Pivot Ball and at that time, here in Germany, it was impossible to buy them. And after a while when I finally found them I broke my arm badly. I was laying on the couch feeling sorry for myself realizing that I had only few car action footage so I came up with this video idea. The music quality is a bit poor (metallic sound ) with a subwoofer speaker it sounds much better. I spent quite some time doing it. I hope you gonna watch the whole video --until the end. Sorry for the long explanation and for uploading so many photos at once. (I am curious to hear what you think about the vid). By this occasion I want to thank Team Durango for making such reliable and beautiful cars. |
