Thought id join the Yok self help group and ask for the part numbers for the BMAX 4 rear arms Lee uses on his YZ2 ?

Seems to be different options available for the rear arms ?

Unbelievable Gaz!! You're not even running 2wd at the Regional! Ha!

Managed to get the gullwing arms for the front at least. Car was very quick on it's first outing but calmer steering wouldn't go a miss.

Chris

Have you tried going to 4mm with spacers under the ballstuds on the steering plate, that should help smooth and calm it also.

Cheers

Chris

I can't stand doing both classes ! Might do though if there's room

Yeah mate I've already adjusted the Ackermann. The car was very good just a little edgy. I will get a good setup sorted after a few more meetings.

Guys

On these setups sheets in the top left hand corner, most have the 4mm under the centre link.....but what is it the 1-1.5mm in the tiny box directly underneath?
Guessing it's to lift the servo link up another 1.5mm?
Or is it 1.5mm spacers to adjust the Ackerman it's not clear

4mm is to space the ball studs forward for ackerman. kit setting is 3mm.

1.5mm is to space the crank height on the posts. Can't recall kit height. I've just left mine as kit tbh.

And is the crank height for bumpsteer ?

Soo adding shims under crank will make it calmer , or more aggresive ?

gazhillAE 14-04-2015 09:54 PM

Has anyone else found that with 4mm under the steering rack the servo arm bal cup catches on the front bulkhead ?

Guessing you've got to file it down ?

****right I've put the 4mm where it would go on the Kf and the 1.5 to space forward for Ackerman ! Il swap now

Don't file anything!

I've just taken a photo... I was wrong about height on posts, that another tuning setting. The 1.5mm refers to spacer(s) under Z2-201CL - Center link, attaching to bellcrank ends.

Yup.

I'm still running kit 2mm height and 3mm ballstud. Tried 4mm and 2mm for ball studs at Worksop, but went back to 3mm. High grip may be different though?
I don't get any fouling of servo horn on top shock mount, but have seen someone with it. played with servo spacing and servo horn neutral position and it went away. Wheels centred, the horn is a few spline clicks to the left, viewed from behind.

You definitely want 4mm on high grip, I had to change at RHR.

is it that noticeable?

I picked up gull wing front arms today. i have tower already.
I thought they were the same as bmax2 arms, but are actually longer by 1-2mm ish.

The front end is really sharp on the astro. It's not a bad thing, just had to dial it down slightly.
