Welsh

yeah they would look awsome and if you want its easy to change the design
and to have them with less holes in them so they look more like the original zx arms.

Shall i send them over so you could snap som shots ???

Iso,

no mate no need. Im going to get a pair made one day by Dyna but im unsure how strong it will be if plastic. The delrin material is a better suited substance but for sticking on a shelf it will look stunning.

isobarik 24-04-2010 02:02 PM

Welsh due to money i was thinking of having my upper and lower deck made in csc what do you think of that ???

I wouldnt. The some of the cars strength is in the rigidity of the chassis and top deck. The csc is more flexible and can cause issues. Why not buy the items in stages so its more affordable for you.

Welshy40 24-04-2010 07:32 PM

Iso,

already done, just make sure you ask for the 7.5 versions not the 8cm.

isobarik 24-04-2010 08:04 PM

Welsh have them put them up on the page so we all can have choise i will tell them to put up the motorplate drawings.

damn that they cant do the kickup plate in carbon ....

mvh Isobarik

Welshy40 24-04-2010 09:53 PM

Im calling them on monday so will ask if they can update their website. I also agree that its a pity they cant make the kick up plate. They will make a mold if they get a large order for these, the problem is the amount they want is not worth while.

I guess im the only person running the carbon fibre kick up plate.

isobarik 25-04-2010 07:54 AM

Welsh i know i would get a couple and i have a friend that wants some also but how many would they like to do for the order ?????

Welshy40 02-05-2010 09:48 AM

Iso,

what about? If your after a chassis, top deck, shock towers, steering plate, servo plate (my idea), pivot plates and currently in development rear shock tower mount. I dont have anything outstanding with fibre lyte.

Kamtec i did call and will chase at the end of this week, as we want the zxr, tomcat shells.

isobarik 02-05-2010 09:53 AM

Personally every time that I saw a Lazer buggy or a strange Lazer part on the net I'm tempted in buying ...

But I also realize that the vintage/collector market is sometimes more expensive than racing, so now I'm trying to keep my focus in completing my runner and finally have some fun in some dirty track  !

By the way any news from Kamtec about the bodies :wub :wub ?

Bye

Welshy40 07-05-2010 04:20 PM

Those shafts may not fit. Think about how they go in and move and youll see what i mean.

Kamtec have managed half the mold so hopefully the tomcat mold should touch wood be made by the end of next week. Looking forward to getting the first one made very soon and will post pictures.

Lazer Decals

Hi Ema,
I think those would be good with the TBG bodies. We just need Kamtec to get going on the production models for the ZXR Bodies. Remember the French guy last year or so selling his Decals too? They were pretty good. I cant find him anywhere. They are about 35 dollars US plus Shipping. I bought 2.
Take care.. Good Find also!

Yes, I remember that French guy ... his username on http://www.vintage-rc.org/forum is Aurélien ;).
His decals were quite expensive but really nice .... I'm just waiting the right Zx-r body repro for them :woot: !

Ema 24-05-2010 11:41 AM

Zx-r bodies ...

Saturday was a lucky day for me, I was able to find a Zx-r undertray (original Kyosho  ) and an aftermarket Zx-r body .

The undertray will be definitely used in my shelf queen and the body probably in my runner because details are not really accurate but the lexan is thick.

However looking closer at the aftermarket body there are really some crazy things that I'd like to share:
1 - The body shell is really tall compared for example with the TBG repro
2 - The body shell has some really strange cutting lines
3 - The body mount that sit over the rear shock tower support is really smaller than the kyosho one

I really think that this body was used with a non Lazer chasis however I did not have any other information.

Here are some photos ;) !!

Welshy40 24-05-2010 12:27 PM

I think that this shell is actually an upgrade for the Lazer 2000 model or alpha.

The battery goes into the chassis on one side (the left hand side if looking at the front so kindof makes sense where the lines are on the unpainted shell so that you do not need to take the shell off to change the batteries.

The undertray looks almost identical to the Kamtec zxs so is this identical to the ZXR shell you already have. Looks very much like a remold job so is not an original. Still, good find.

isobarik 24-05-2010 04:26 PM

Ong nice car is it the camera since there are som funny camber going on at the back....

Welshy40 25-05-2010 11:28 AM

The downfall on the chassis is no servo pot hole so you have to glue a servo to the chassis so opted out and used the three piece chassis. Looks nice. Looks better with the black yoko wheels. Looks nice.

The shell is for a beginners car, not the ZXR or RR as the side cutting lines prove that as its got a battery slot to slide the battery in and out so guess this was an upgrade from the Alpha to look more like a ZXR.
