Can anyone confirm if Tamiya "950" bearings are required when installing the Adjustable Belt Tensioner (53967) Set, if so, how many ? and what dimension are these ?
How far off is your review Jimmy ?

Very similar price wise for me, and I like the look of both of them.

the diff holders sit pretty snug in the chassis, so even with the gearbox tops off, you should be able to easily tell belt tension.

Yes, you will need 2 x 950 bearings.

950 means 9mm outside diameter x 5mm inside diameter.

Thanks Bender.

Another thing that i discovered is that none of my receivers fit in the spot provided for them. Now it looks like i will have to order the tamiya Tru-02 receiver which fits perfectly. Money that i dont have at the moment.

Did you find the separate white sheet (folded) that tells you where to place the decals. Its on the back of a sheet called "R/C BODY PARTS SET" Or do you need a copy?

hold yer horses, there's no rush! lol Spent 2 hours last night just cutting a 1mm chrome stripe around the flames on my shell! :p should look rather nice me thinks :)

drinternat 13-12-2007 12:17 PM

I was just going to give my shell a quick slap of magnolia emulsion. (LOL)

I just finished my shell, lm mask, done the trimming last night, and took a hour spraying it.... will cut it out later now though.

Yes i did find the sheet for the layout of the decals. I guess that i spoke a little too soon, since i found it not long after my post. Well anyways i finished the body last night and i think it looks absolutley great. I went with the box art and i think the colors suit the buggy well. It wasnt until i finished the wing and body and then put it on the chassis that i realized how mean and aggressive the Durga looks. Overall i am very happy with the entire kit, now i just have to get the proper electronics i choose for it and she will be ready to run. As of now she looks way too pretty to get beat up, but i guess thats what they are meant for. I really would like to post some photos of the overall product, but i need to get a hold of someones digital camera first.

Looks like candy. I'll bet it's watermelon flavor. I really like the split window too. Where/how did you get the Tekin R1? I'm guessing it's gonna be fast... :D

I couldn't bring myself to putting the Durga sticker on it.... but some of them stikers are FAB!!

Put the rear battery retaining clip at 45' the the chassis, if you have across or along, it rubs the body grrrr....

jimmy 14-12-2007 12:14 AM

I went for the hot weather cuts on mine so the clip is not near the shell

chrome line done - took 3 hours! just gotta paint in the flames and it's done! woohoo... well gotta back it and tint the windows and then create some stickers for it and paint the wing..

colours are a bit muted in the ole studio (kitchen), looks nicer in the flesh

Very nicely done Jimmy. Wish I had the patience (and skill) to paint a body like that. Absolutely stunning.

Carlos69 14-12-2007 02:24 AM

:oHoley Crap ! Seeeeeeeriously impressive ! Looks finished to me (but keep going if it's not yet finished)....that chrome outline does look SO fiddly to do - I can see how you spent hours on it....is it suck on the inside, or outside ?:eh?: I'd like to do something like this...hope its not copyrighted ?!:D
....with blue crome tinted windows....

Toonz 14-12-2007 03:05 AM

dcm, i like the split window concept and clear wing, nice!

and WOW! jimmy, that silver trim! we are waiting for your full review still:D

Spoolio 14-12-2007 07:03 AM

That is one nice paintjob there Jimmy. Apologies if this question has been asked before but I get the feeling that a front one-way is essential for the Durga, but why exactly (I know how they work I just don't understand the benefits - I am a bit thick I think!). Cheers.
