I wouldn't put a concave lip on it. As there is no gradated down section. The 30 odd degree consistent take off, leaves the car flatter coming down. With a lip, it will send the cars north and make the impact heavier. Stationary cars waiting to find traction will lead to vertical stacking
I am surprised to see the worn marks as the last meeting was on Sunday, the day before the Boughton regional, and I don't know anyone that raced (not saying there wasn't, just I don't know of anyone that had the balls to go racing on Easter Sunday AND Monday). Regarding the jumps at the back - I agree with Mr Evans (take a picture people, this is rare), it will need some TLC. This much rain and it will be like jumping through mashed potatoe. East of England - Renowned for it's low rainful, currently in a state of drought and yet it is likely to p'+s it down for 3 out of 3 meetings. Unbelievable! On a positive note - it's not like the weather has crept up on us - at least it's had the good nature to advertise the fact well in advance. Looking forward to Sunday. After my wins in all 3 classes at round 2 (FACT -it's on oOple) I have some titles to win! |
read halfway through that post...and fell off my seat in shock.Got to say somthing to upset him now so we can get back to normal:lol:

Oky doky,we were up the track on Wednesday evening in the rain and whilst other parts of the field were boggy, the corner where the new track is located seems to drain quite well with no puddles.
A couple of our guys will be up there tomorrow and will report on here tomorrow evening IF we have consistant heavy rain between now and then, but i dont foresee any real problems. It was our intention to run both the jump and the whoop-de-doos as dirt because this has caused us no problems up until now.But today we have taken the decision to carpet both of these areas before sunday so that they dont chew up too much. We also totally boarded out the rostrum and built some pukka steps on Wednesday and there is plenty of room and its very safe and sturdy.I'm sure George will confirm this. The weather forecast is different on various websites for Colchester on sunday so its fingers crossed and see you bright and early,I'll be there from 8am. Paul. |

Well done to the colchester crew for putting on a great meeting today. immaculately run as has come to be expected from colchester model car club.
I loved the track, really kept you on your toes and rewarded consistant neat and tidy driving but still allowed for great racing as was shown in the short courses, 3 wide over the doubles was awesome  Can't wait to see some photos and video |
Ditto!! good track, well organised by a good bunch!!!
Cheers Boys:thumbsup: |
A big thank you to Craig, Tom and Big Dave for yet another well organised event.
A great days racing had by all, especially unlucky George not being unlucky today by taking the 4wd and SC wins. Bring on round 4  |

|
Big hand clap to all at colchester for a great days racing:thumbsup:.
Best moment for me today was watching Mr Hubbard limping round for the last lap of q3 and Mark Lambert catching him on the last corner, for Ben to gun it and beat him over the line by miliseconds superb:thumbsup:. |

Great meeting, shame my car had strange electrical gremlins all day.
Top class photos, I'll post one of my own after I've found a big enough hammer to smash my Frysky receiver with! |
Just a quick not to say well done to the colchester crew for producing a good track despite all the bad weather the past few weeks. the track held up well and was challenging and fun to drive. my only slight gripe was the rostrum, sturdy and high enough but i think it just needs to be that bit longer, 8 drivers was a squeeze but 10 for the finals and the need to use pallets for people to stand on shows it does need to be just that bit bigger. that aside a great day and looking forward to the round later in the year.
|
I agree with colin i liked the track and enjoyed it more once i got used to the bumps one thing i think needs some tlc are the double jumps or could just be my driving lol.But well done a great day bring on round 4.

gd days racing fella,s:thumbsup:

Ben Hubbard 10 / 326.45 Mark Lambert 10 / 326.70 Well done to all:thumbsup: A hideously tough day for me. Of 6 attempts at taking the car out: I snapped a drive shaft in second round. Broke another drive shaft in Leg 1 of the Finals. Snapped a shock in the 2nd leg of the finals (see above) and the battery link wire came out and left me parked up for a lap in leg 3. BUT - it was a good day and really enjoyed the racing. Thanks to all involved:thumbsup: Marshalling the SC trucks was eventful to say the least and have some vids I'll post up when I get a few mins to push the button. |
