http://www.oople.com/forums/images/icons/icon7.gifI realise it's probably down a little on power to the Aprilia but be careful driving enthusiasticly (can't say race, it's against the law on a public road!) Subaru's & Evo's, I tried it with my Suzuki SV1000S on a B road and try as I might I couldn't shake an Impreza off my tail.
I don't know which version of the Turbo it was (54 plated) and although I'd pull away from it on the straight sections they carry so much more corner speed. Now it may just be that I ride like a girl but speeds varied between 60 & 120 mph so we weren't exactly hanging around.:D

Looking back now it's really horrible!

The car:
-raised in the back
-"salmon stairs" in the back window
-tinted sidewindows (film)
-4x brakelights
-curvelights
-a fox tail on the antenna not much later...

The 80s guy:
-permanent (curls) & stripes, "hockey style" haircut
-Hollies sand blown leather jacket
-acid washed jeans, way too short & very tight
-white socks with red & blue stripes
-moccasins / "indian slippers"
-RayBan Round Metals sunglasses. Later Opel sunglasses to top it all off...

:lol::thumbsup::lol::thumbsup:

Ah, Colin Brennans old 100quid Rover 418Tdi had comedy low speed oversteer. We were lost in France, taking our time to read road signs and suddenly driving completely sideways at a silly low speed.

It was ace!

http://www.oople.com/forums/images/icons/icon7.gifI never had a problem mechanically with my RG, platinum plugs and Silkolene synthetic oil never missed a beat even in rush hour traffic. Petrol was a different matter though, sub 20mpg was nothing unusual but worth every penny!:D

20mpg and synthetic oil makes it pretty expensive to run!!!!

Then wait until your gearbox decides to exit through your crankcases and deposits bits of gears throughout the rest of your engine.:o thousands of pounds to repair nowadays.

It will happen one day if you use the bike whether you have the upgraded gearbox or not.

That said, best bike I have ever ridden to put a smile on your face when you hit the powerband.

:cry:I nearly cried the first day I got it, one of the genuine Pepsi bikes delivered to my driveway by the dealer and within an hour I managed to catch the handlebars pulling it forward and you've guessed it. Sidestand popped up and over she went, delaer couldn't believe it when I phoned up and ordered a new left centre panel and belly pan.

I have to agree with your last sentence, hue grin factor that you never got bored of. Fortunately never had a problem with the gearbox, must have been lucky.:D
