WHITTLER555 02-09-2006 11:18 AM

If the weather in Batley is anything like what is coming down in Burnley right now we will have 90 boats racing!! LOL:D

jimmy 02-09-2006 11:42 AM

Should be ok tomorrow, finger crossed of course!:)

Cockerill 02-09-2006 12:52 PM

Me and Dan will be down at 7:45. We need help setting the track up, the grass needs cutting, etc. from Batley club members and anyone else who wishes to help.

Thanks

Northy 02-09-2006 01:18 PM

Not a problem Tom.

Have you got my cars sorted out?

G

notlawnomis 02-09-2006 04:08 PM

Anyone know if Castle models is going tomorrow????

WHITTLER555 02-09-2006 04:50 PM

ERM! Probably a bit of a thick question but as you know I am from "over the border" !!

What format does the racing take, are we scoring points, are there any handicaps for F1, F2 drivers?

Just so I know what I am letting myself in for!:D

Northy 02-09-2006 05:11 PM

I'd have thought Pete would be there.

Damo, there are 5 start lines set out around the track, F1's just after the loop, F5's just before the loop. All the other F's at equal distances between those two. This gives F5's a lap on the F1's at the start.

The winner of a race gets 10 points for their team, the second 9, third 8 etc.

NO points for a non start.

Think thats it.

Northy 02-09-2006 06:11 PM

Right, quite simply the weather is currently shite.
Who's decision would it be to cancel? I don't want another Batley regional farce.

jimmy 02-09-2006 06:31 PM

It doesnt look too bad here mate, ok its wet but its getting better by the looks of it and the weather is supposed to be alright tomorrow.

Northy 02-09-2006 06:39 PM

Cool.

notlawnomis 02-09-2006 07:08 PM

Another question is there a local fast "ish" food place, local, or will a van be there??

cheers
simon

jimmy 02-09-2006 07:14 PM

Not sure about a van, but there is a Maccys about 1/2 miles away in heckmondwike, just down the road basically. There are a couple of chippys close by also.
If the swimming baths are open they serve food in there and theres a lil supermarket 1/4 mile up the road also.

*whispers* ME TOO! I just don't like being in the rain myself.

At least I don't have to keep my hair covered up at all times this week!

Northy 02-09-2006 08:19 PM

What colour is it this week? :D

G

WHITTLER555 02-09-2006 09:04 PM

Weather over here has got a lot better and as it is so mild the roads are already dry.

Looking at an hour by hour forecast any rain should be gone by 10am leaving a cloudy/sunny day.

Do I feel a Michael Fish moment coming along!:p

jimmy 03-09-2006 05:46 PM

Great days racing. Shame about the weather early on but it got better. Shame the last round had to be dropped because of time too, but many thanks to derek for helping out
I managed a 2nd, 3rd, 2nd and 1st in my runs, quite happy with that.

RobHatcliffe 03-09-2006 07:59 PM

Enjoyed my first interclub meeting - thanks to all those who made it possible.

Had a good laugh with the other Bury lads 'n' lasses, well done on your quality scores Jimmy, you contributed greatly to our brill 2nd place overall.

Personally, I think it was a good decision to drop the 5th round - it was threatening to be a loooong day otherwise.

jimmy 03-09-2006 08:23 PM

yeah, I was hungry for more but it was getting on, shame but had to happen.

Still, really happy with 2nd place!

Northy 03-09-2006 08:30 PM

When will the photos be up Jimmy?
I'm off to bed now, I'm goosed! :o :(

Great days "fun" racing, with everyone taking it as it should be, thanks to all that organised!!

Another great report Jimmy (and pics), your a great credit to our region, promoting racing within, showing others what their missing out on and highlighting to other regions how it should be done!!

Northy 04-09-2006 09:42 PM

Jimmy,

Not funny now. :( I'll swop you the big glass trophy from the Interclub! :o

G

Northy 04-09-2006 09:48 PM

Great report Jimmy, how about sending it to Racer? Would be good to get some coverage of our region, nothing ever seems to go in. If you want me to add a few words or anything else to help I will.

Cheers,

G

Well Done York A

Just wanted to say a big WELL DONE to all 'my boys' who raced for York A Team at the Interclub on Sunday. You all drove really well and made me really proud.:D

You know who you all are, but for those of you who don't, here's the team:

Graham North, Paul Bradby, Jim Dixon, Andy Fox, Tom Cockerill, Richard Isherwood, Richard Coates, Arslaan Butt, Craig Collinson and Ben Riley.

Well done also to York B Team who won the 'B Team' Trophy.:)

Will see those of you going to Holbeach next weekend for some beers (not on me).:p :p :puker:
