Liking the changes guys! Is the banked sweeper going to astro covered, or is it going to stay as tarmac? I never really liked the tarmac, as it ripped tyres to shreds. Thumbs up if it is going to be astro!

I guess the whole track is larger too. Is the triangle track going to be used for the National then?

Mark

ashleyb4 04-04-2008 05:13 PM

Mark the banked corner will be astro the back section will still proberly be tarmac as for using this track at the national it is far to small about a 6th of the size of kiddy track and we dont have the room for a on and off rostrum nor transmitter control.

A

ashleyb4 04-04-2008 07:47 PM

Tyres are down there and there are loads!!!!!!!

A

neiloliver 04-04-2008 07:54 PM

The National track will be on the grass bank as last year, but smaller in area than previous years.

We would love to have the National on our permanent track and maybe we will be allowed to in the future once we have all the modifications in place and tested regionals on it. The problem really is area. The triangle area we have is only 68% of the area of the Kidi track, and although kidi never have 100% utilisation we will struggle to get a comparable track length.

The new banked corner is further to the left than the old corner but we cannot go too far left else people have issues seeing the corner. We have pushed out the useable area to the top right of the track (when viewed from the rostrum) but only testing will show what lap times we can get.

We will go 100% astro turf when we can. We know that some people dont like all the tracks turning to astro, but we need to run as a CLUB with both electric and nitros in the English weather.. and grass is not up to it.

We may have to keep the tarmac for a while as it does not turn to mud when it rains, but we agree it is bad for tyres. There will be a paved area (smooth slabs) which is never as bad for tyres.

ashleyb4 04-04-2008 07:57 PM

Are we getting rid of all the grass?

Gareth
Why should he have to ask for your dads permission to post pictures, when he is actively helping to create the new Oswestry track.!!!

Why not just leave him be.

IceMike 22-04-2008 10:27 PM

Ash is right my internet is dying atm. We are activly tryin to make a completed track as fast as we can to get back to wot we love doin best. We have had alot of stone delivered today to finnish off our new features (fingers crossed by thursday) so we can get back to racing outside.

I will post again 2morrow nit but i would like to ask everyone to come and test the new track features this week thursday nite. booking in at 7pm £4. the more the better really as it will show us where the defects are so we can fix them.

Please wait so i can confurm the work has been done and that the track is racable.
