Half of me is looking forward to running them and the other half a little scared. The extra voltage will be like dropping a wind at least!!! Just got to track down some battery bars tomorrow and build at the track, anyway must get packing. Dan |
Good Luck Dan And Be Safe In Travels Dont Forget That Little Speed Secret !

Hi,
I'd like to know the right cut-off voltage to discharge the IB 4200 SHV's, I read here and there 1,1v, 0,9v, 0,6v, 0,5v,...,... So, please share your experience, thanks!;):thumleft: |
0.9 PER CELL THATS IT!:flower:
|
Thanks, Doc!:D

nice one dan cheers for the info, looking to completly upgrade all are cells toward the end of the year, may be for first out doors next year
|
Do people equalize a lot with these cells then ? I really must confess to never doing anything but charging my cells. I neve discharge (unless its by accident and I press the wrong button)
I am finding I am going soft (oooerr) toward the end (oooerr) of my runs (oooerr - enough), at the moment in 4wd. I think I have 1 or more cells in my packs which are dying prematurely like after 4/4.5 mins. I noticed it in a couple of packs last weekend. |
i discharge and equalize my cells directly before i charge them
|
Jim, you would definately bennefit from equalising before use, but to get the best advantage out of it, before your next run, drop your cells down, tray them, charge, discharge to give them a cycle, then just slap them in the tray an hour or so before charging, should give you better punch through the run, and not going soft at the climax (ooooerrrr)
|
Yeah after advice from Dave I'm going to stop discharging after a run and actually put some back in if I think they are very low, then discharge and equalise before use, maybe not every time due to logistics but when I can.
Rich Lowe is very confident that these cells self discharge more than any others previous. If he discharges and smart trays them after a race, then he can often get false peaks when charging next time on almost new cells. |
I could do with a decent equalizer me thinks, I have the orion thing but it takes about 7 years to discharge - bah, I will have to think about it next year when I have some dosh
|
thought your only suppose to discharge and equalise just before recharge
|
So, lets start from the begining. The only discharger that I own is part of the charger and only discharges at 3amps. I charge my cells at 5amps before each race and usually discharge them either straight after on Daz's pro peak at 30amp discharge or later at home at 3amps (discharge to .9volts per cell). They then sit there for up too 2weeks before getting another charge. What am I doing wrong here? (I have no equiliser either...):)
|
everything, charge them between 5 and 6 amps then run them put them away with what ever is left in them, this next part is just my personnel pref, i discharge them, from that straight to the equaliser tray, then straight on the charger for the next run, at the next meeting

Might see people moving up the winds from a 10 to maybe a 11 or 12 in 2wd.... 4wd WOOOOOOHOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO |
DR voodoo are your cells BRCA legal or not.
A |
Yes they are.
|
They are indeed as they are available in the already passed blue/silver heatshrink. They are also well worth if if you're looking at getting some new cells!
|
Quote:
It is the cell which is approved by the BRCA, not the matchers label. The cell being matched by Voodoo is a BRCA approved cell. |

Voodoo use the cells in their original heatshrink so they are fine! |
