As I said of course:
"We have heard some rumours of what's under that dark sleek silhouette:"

;)

MattW 06-02-2008 11:18 PM

Absolutely Jimmy, guess everyone has to be patient!!!

I just find it funny when people make decisions and statements on un-confirmed info!!!

_JP_ 06-02-2008 11:21 PM

I spent many happy days racing a Cat XLS and Parma wide body Cat.

Cant wait to see the new car go.

Narrow now wide in 88/89? WHY?

Alfonzo 06-02-2008 11:29 PM

Serpent & Schumacher in the same week! To quote the old Ferrero Roche tv advert - 'Ambassador, you are spoiling us!'

My guess is a double layshaft with the 'main belt' running way off the center line. Well done to all those at Schumacher for making this happen, as a designer myself I know how much hard work is involved, so congrats.

:thumbsup::)

bigred5765 06-02-2008 11:31 PM

use to love ma cats back in the day

DaveG28 06-02-2008 11:36 PM

Are they talking about a release in Mayish?

jimmy 06-02-2008 11:39 PM

That's what they told Eoghain at redrc yeah

Lee 06-02-2008 11:43 PM

Yes, may is correct, when i spoke to chris back in november about the car they had the CAD drawing all drawn up and they were getting prototypes together, now they obviously have a car and are testing it, once the design is finalised and weak parts identified things can be made fairly quickly and the only thing that holds up the company is other people who the work has been outsourced too.

bigred5765 06-02-2008 11:44 PM

god may is leaving it close for us all to dig in for the out door season

jimmy 06-02-2008 11:45 PM

better late than never though, and who'd have thought they would make a return at all.

DCM 06-02-2008 11:48 PM

all I hope is they haven't just mde a twin deck XX4 or they haven't gone for a wild and whacky design either.

Just a nice simple design and one that will sty the same for 12 months lol.

available Spring 2008 on the schumacher website....i know of at least one Lazer that will for sale if the new cat accepts Lipos......

andys 07-02-2008 08:30 PM

Fantastic news.

Can't wait to see it, who do i make the cheque payable to ?

gps3300 07-02-2008 09:06 PM

Arrgggh, I hate the "crashback" Schumacher wing mounts. A wing costs, what £2 from J Concepts? Replacement O-rings cost that much alone and always break in the middle of a race so your wing flaps around.

What's the point ? I ended up bolting the wing on the in end.

Finaly the almighty Schumacher makes a return (even though the worlds have been and gone-). Who doesn't have some kind of history with this company? I raced the CAT XLS back in its day and the car was just soo smooth to drive on my home track. It almost made it easy winning to be honest. Many people have been awaiting this cars arrival, with many also giving up on any hope of its return.Schumacher have been doing a great job on keeping this one under wraps too.
Ive bought, sold and traded a heap of the old cars now but still own more than 20 of the older cars. They really were top cars i there day with a definate racing pedigree about them.Even though I like my 501X I may have to grab one of the new cars regardless of its battery layout. Its funy how you hear racers who squable over cell layout. With lipo's still not legal here,Im happy to arrange my cells however the platform requires.Im sure during R&D the guys behind this car have developed this car to the best of its potential.Schumacher have had the 'rumoured' CAT 4000 under development for some time now,Im sure they have gotten it right rather than just dropping another car prematurely before the recent world's.

bondy 08-02-2008 11:08 AM

Nothing Like

Its completely different from the Cat4000! SO I have heard :eh?:

The rumoured CAT4000 was a name people on the Schumacher forum had coined for the up and coming CAT a couple of years ago.Spy shots of what looked more like a CAT 2000 style chassis were floating about. The 4000 term was what enthusiasts were calling what could be the new car to come.

The CAT 4000 was a prototype car, it was named the CAT 4000 by Schumacher. Although it didn't make it into production prototypes have been shown/raced.

Bluelock1 08-02-2008 01:15 PM

mr. ed 10-02-2008 12:49 PM

Thanks, Was that a new body on the S4000? I kinda like the old body style better than what can be awaited from that SX profile picture.

terry.sc 10-02-2008 01:21 PM

No, the body on the CAT 4000 is the old CAT 2000 body. I suppose that makes it old style:lol:

With 'old-style' I was referring to 'shumachers old style of buggy shells'.
The later ones like the firebkade were so cool.
I wonder if the shell designer is still the same person?

jimmy 11-02-2008 12:19 PM

i got that info off apex's website, it doesn't sound right to me either, all my cars spur gears rotate in the same direction as the wheels,

bigred5765 11-02-2008 12:27 PM

unless its a stab at shaft drives of course
this interests me
Three belt transmission, with adjustable internal ratio.

jimmy 11-02-2008 12:32 PM

ah, bit of a funny way of saying they believe belts are better
