hi dude will this track be able to run 1/8th scale as well on different weekends as there is a big following in the northeast for 1/8th scale as well and it could generate more revenue (money)for your track

chris68nufc 05-08-2011 02:57 PM

Do nitro cars not sometimes spew fuel out though? That would make the track impossible to drive in the wet!
Saying that, tally in Wales run both classes, it was always a bit rough for 10th scale but they still run nationals on it!
A better idea may be to build a separate track for 8th and then 2 classes could run on the same day??!!

I'm sure that Paul has thought all about this anyway!!

DAVO 05-08-2011 03:18 PM

The problem is most 1/8th scale tracks are too bumpy for 1/10, but a 1/10 track is spot on for 1/8th buggys as well as 1/10th. As long as its been made for 10th and is nice and smooth but big enough for 1/8th to use but if its slightly to big for 1/10th because of this it could just be made so the 1/10th cars miss out a very small section at the back.

As for the nitro fuel on the track ive never know this to have been a problem before so should be fine.

Hi it is always an option to run 1/8 nitro in the future and extend the track to accommodate but not for the moment until i get the 1/10 electric club up and running fully. its taken me 100 + hours to get to this stage with the track still to build and don’t want to jeopardise anything.

the only problem i have is having the noise checked with the landlord to ensure it does not effect there business and would not course annoyance.

Regards Paul

chris68nufc 10-08-2011 08:04 AM

Will the amb timing system be ok for the business? If there's a meeting on then it will be beeping constantly all day?

The offers of help have been around for ages now, you haven't even bothered to let people know how the track is going, not even where the track is, I was hoping that this track was going to be a good thing.
I posted a while ago that if you didn't keep the interest/info up then people would get bored and move on to touring cars etc(Neil?) this is whats happened, seems you have realised how hard this is to do on your own and now your asking for help! Good luck

AfroP 27-08-2011 04:06 AM

I'm still available to help and am happy to do so, although an ice cold beverage might be better than a cup of coffee :-)
Let's just hope the weather holds out.
Pm me the details and I'll come along

chris68nufc 05-09-2011 07:42 PM

Has it been knocked on the head for electric buggies then?

DAVO 05-09-2011 08:56 PM

cool its more revenue for you and your club to run both classes and there is a need for a decent track in the northeast especially one that can cater for 1/10th and 1/8th

Wouldnt of thought so.

think its just a case of trying to cater for both classes.

StwBald 06-09-2011 09:20 AM

Wow Chris Thank you for the inspiring comments. if you only new what is involved in building a track

The reason for the delay is my working commitment and the high winds damaging the track and un doing all the hard work that has been carried out.

hope you enjoy worksop
Regards Paul

Perhaps you need to consider making it a Private Members Club when it is up and running and ensure that all guests are vetted before they are allowed to make use of the facility.

By vetted, I don't mean neutered, but if your committee thought this was appropriate in regard to any particular guest then so be it.

:woot: :p ;) :woot: :)

damo666 24-10-2011 11:33 AM

Is this still going ahead as the nitro 8th lads would make a regular trip and would be willing to pay for practice and races. All of us now travel to clubs and the closest is wakefield so if you will cater for 8th you would get a good regular turnout.

jimmyfish 24-10-2011 12:07 PM

So much great potential but let down by a wally.

Dont think anyones bothered any more.........

paulcrfpaul 24-10-2011 02:16 PM

Theres alot of people intrested in this track. Can you let us know whats happening. There will be help available if you do 1/8th nitro.....

Steven Forster 24-10-2011 03:48 PM

If he doesnt reply or see the comments i will hopefully see him friday "IF" hes racing and let him know that people are still interested................I have already mentioned to paul about running 1/8th nitro aswell before but will see what he says with more people being interested in this track !!!

chris68nufc 25-10-2011 05:48 PM

I don't think it was the case of people not being interested!
