Mikey might be bringing a new driver on Sunday who hasn't raced for 15 years and guess what he's got a Rango

Nearly another Rango heat!

Got another racer switching to 4WD (511/410)

It's going to be a good one. I'll be rolling 2WD unless something lands on the doorstep

martin so16 25-05-2011 05:46 PM

im running 2wd as well in the same boat as mike waiting for new toy to get here :D

Good news and fingers crossed it is meant to be dry now tomorrow instead of raining bbc you better be right for once;)

mikeyscott 28-05-2011 02:12 PM

Can people make sure they park nicely to make use of the limited parking space we have.

I for one will be pitting under a gazebo & sharing it with a few other TORCH racers, but parking my car away from the track.

MrMagoo 28-05-2011 06:28 PM

Us nitro boys are all planning on pitting (and BBQ'ing!) together, aiming to get there early to get set up, then we can stick the cars out the way somewhere.

Fingers crossed for the weather, looking forward to running the 'Rango with a new speedo in it now Wylie's got it all soldered up for me.

Briangb 28-05-2011 10:47 PM

Lucky you John C. Think I fried my esc last week. Took the receiver with it as well.
No show for me this time. At least I get a lie in. Will be able to watch F1 as well.
Hope the weather stays dry and you all have a good day. Half way through the year
and I have not yet had a trouble free meeting. Surely my luck must change soon.

hotrodchris 29-05-2011 07:45 PM

Spot on day as usual guys!
For a change had a good days qualifying made it into the A Final and then only made 1 lap in all 3 finals but there is always next time.

maseace 29-05-2011 09:00 PM

Great days racing and a well done to the now retired mad rat she has done me proud and proves a fifty pound kit can keep up with more expensive cars, i will from next week move onto the cougar and see if that can get me the 6 seconds i need to do ten laps i hope it does as 4x more expensive then the rat.

Well done to everyone today and had some great racing with dean and james, dean with his medal well done.

Robocop 29-05-2011 11:26 PM

Chris. That may well be my fault. I only managed 3 laps last week.
I fear some of those Rango gremlins may still be lurking in the
Hampshire undergrowth. With any luck they have all jumped ship
from my pit box, and as I was not there they were waiting to pounce
on any unsuspecting Rango driver. Well done for making the 'A'.

mikeyscott 30-05-2011 07:06 AM

Many thanks for the comments guys. Thanks to the team who help run the meeting.

I'll be back in a couple of weeks, hopefully to shake down a 4WD ready for the next regional.

Randall34 30-05-2011 10:14 AM

I had a great day dispite the disaster of getting caught speeding on the way down the M3. I had an ok first race, destroyed the diff on the warm-up lap of race two, and missed race three while trying to rebuild a busted diff with no spares (thanks to Mikey for the c-clip). Only to return to race four and have the motor wire drop out 30 secs from the end.
These crap three races left me in the C Final (sorry to Dean and Jack as they should have won and come second if i wasn't there) I won the first two finals with a fully functioning car and crashed out of contention in final 3 and finished 7th.

This has to be a case against Round by Round, if we were running FTQ i wouldn't have taken a trophey that someone else should have won. Althought it did allow another driver to earn more points in the series. So swings and roundabouts i suppose.

Next time i hope luck will be on my side (karma or some sh*t).

Great to meet Dean again, we used to race some 20 years ago.....

See you next time (i will try and make some morning meetings too)

Neil

mikeyscott 30-05-2011 10:17 AM

Cheers Neil, did you take some photos etc?

I'm planning on doing FTD on one of our standard meetings at some point just to mix it up for fun (allow the one lap wonders a better chance :p - which includes me!)

Mike you can't change the size of the goal posts half way through the game lol anyway if the drivers want ftd we will make it happen?

mikeyscott 30-05-2011 07:01 PM

Only change on non summer series. Not bothered about morning meeting format. FTD/RBR

My next meeting at torch will be round 3 of summer series.

Randall34 31-05-2011 05:23 PM

I only got a few pics from the last final, and of course all of the trophy presentation. I will send them tonight or in the morning and post up some pics on here.

I am planning on doing an on-board movie in HD soon, just need to be able to make the cam safe on the car. I tried it in the back garden but i don't have table tops and sleeping policemen there. The cam will need to be fitted well and i'm not quite there yet........watch this space.
