Right Index finger. Both our bads...

ben 09-12-2007 07:27 PM

Why is it the right index finger? do you both hold your transmitters upside down or something?:confused:

lil ben

josh_smaxx 09-12-2007 07:30 PM

No i hold it with my right hand, only way i can possible drive, i need to control steering with my left hand, probably from years of playstation use :eh?: i like lay it flat and have the ariel pointing off to the left somewhere, good job its spektrum. i was heavy on the throttle, got my tranny sorted out now so it should be better, we will see........

ben 09-12-2007 07:38 PM

wow im impressed. Never seen anyone hold their transmitter like that before. What result you hoping for at the weekend?

lil ben

josh_smaxx 09-12-2007 07:54 PM

I aim to finish :D

Yeah i was thinking that kash,

josh_smaxx 10-12-2007 07:29 AM

I have no idea  everyone asks me and i assumed it was the throttle control my Tx gave me, now thats been sorted i still seem to go through them at an alarming rate, its scary. Btw i can manage a night on one set of rears, it it does take them down to practice tires.

Northy 10-12-2007 08:57 AM

Is yours the car that had a switch for a speedo at the Aces?

G

Kash 10-12-2007 10:48 AM

Maybe try using a bit of slipper

Not the open toe sort though, it'll be a bit cold for them..

Northy 10-12-2007 03:33 PM

Right, back on topic, current entries:

Total : 2WD - 33
Total : 4WD - 45

tc2k 10-12-2007 04:29 PM

2 pair of tyres a race night, thats stupid. Same pair for a few months here and Ill probably just run them on sunday aswell. You must not be able to drive with slightly worn so your throttle control is piss poor.

lil ben

tc2k 10-12-2007 05:43 PM

What, I dont know how on earth someone can use 2 sets up in a night, its just not right. didnt wanna seem harsh

ben 10-12-2007 05:49 PM

Lol see what you mean about 2sets though.

lil ben

josh_smaxx 10-12-2007 06:06 PM

Open to all suggestions :D

Ye it was me with the switch at the ACES, thats what happens when you give a sort of begginer a tranny with some wort of adjustment, it does work now though ;) and heres me thinking my car was normal :o

AndyM 10-12-2007 06:09 PM

try practicing with completely balled tyres, to help you become smoother on the throttle, it helps.

josh_smaxx 10-12-2007 06:10 PM

After a race night i use those tires to practice with, so i already do :D O/J, i will try that, might stick the kit tires on.

Northy 10-12-2007 06:38 PM

Your car also seemed to have some sort of crazy motor in it too! :o

What speedo and motor are you using? Perhaps changing the settings will help. You can only be wearing the tyres through wheelspin, and (excessive) wheelspin is NOT fast!

G

ben 10-12-2007 06:42 PM

As my sig says josh slow is fast!!!lil ben

Mike Hudson 10-12-2007 06:42 PM

so what time will people be arriving at teeside on the mourning?

ben 10-12-2007 06:44 PM

Stupid 0'clock at a guess as usual. Is their tables and chairs available?? And is their mains supply guarenteed?lil ben

Mike Hudson 10-12-2007 06:50 PM

I doubt there will be any chairs or tables available and if your going to want mains supply then you'll have to be there nice and early to snag up a plug :D

ben 10-12-2007 06:53 PM

aaaaawwwwwwwww. Im too tired But suppose i have got the monday off cos im on study leave. Who said study leave was for studying lol.lil ben

josh_smaxx 10-12-2007 06:56 PM

Im running a GTB/orion 6.5 setup, seriously though, i have the settings on the transmitter sorted now, its much much better, i got sick off having an on/off switch so seeked help. My friend (won C final ACES) runs a novak 3.5 coz he thinks its faster :p i only lost out on that because of a dodgey sensor wire (very well fixed now)

If you get there early enough theres tables/chairs + mains power, i for sure am getting there early seen as though i havent got a 12v battery :(

Edit: so my badly photoshopped avatar goes against you Ben? :p

Mike Hudson 10-12-2007 06:56 PM

haha ya gona sleep instead then? i break up this thursday :p will most people be running minipins or what?

ben 10-12-2007 06:58 PM

Good stuff :D

Chrislong 10-12-2007 11:19 PM

Hey Josh, the 3.5 is nuts! Glad your running a 6.5 as that'll actually be quicker over a lap on any indoor track than the 3.5..

On the GTB, I run mine with factory default settings but turn down the drag brake, in 2wd to the 2nd setting and in 4wd to the 1st setting (= zero drag brake). So then all you need to do is make sure your throttle curve is linear on the transmitter and however you hold your tranny make sure you can control the proportion of the trigger ;) im sure you'll be fine.

josh_smaxx 11-12-2007 07:40 AM

Hey,

I run my GTB at the factory setting too but couldnt make head nor tale of the instructions so didnt know how to turn the drag brake down/off ect. The spektrum DX3.0 doesnt actually have a throttle curve setting, but it seems pretty linear now, no burst/loss of power through the trigger movement.

TBH, my car os even quicker down the straights than the 3.5, he hasnt figured out how to use full throttle and keep it in a straight line yet :p

Chrislong 11-12-2007 08:21 AM

Hey Josh,
Turn the GTB on, then press and hold the settings button til you see blue and amber lights lit up (I think it is the 2nd), then let go of the button. Now the lights will flash 4 times which is default, so press the button 8 times to get it to flash twice - this is actually the 1st drag brake setting, 1 flash is no drag brakes. Once you have done this press and hold the button and the lights will go a bit nuts for a couple of seconds, then its ready to run.

Have a go mate, it feels ace. regional would be a good time too.

Chris
