I was going with my mate but he didnt get the chance to register until 10 am so it looks like i will be travelling alone. I will have to meet up with some of you. I cant go to Belgium on my own. How sad is that! I will be travelling from Newcastle to Hull on the Wednesday night for arrival on the Thursday. Where are the UK lads staying? Im good at making new friends!!

xx4-nutter 26-11-2007 10:12 PM

you should meet up with us guys at hull we gonna have to arrange times and stuff my dad was planning on following dan and chris down to the track so you should follow suit :D

the more the merrier on the boat ! ;)

super__dan 26-11-2007 10:15 PM

I can't say how amazed I am at how quickly this thing sold out. Of the usual UK lot who got in;

Pidge?
Truman?
Mat White?
Reevsy?
Whyman?
Grant?

Not sure on the staying plans yet, plenty of time for that. You know you can camp at the track, but sleep will be at a preminum?

Actually lets have a role call now;

Dan Greenwood,
Chris Long,
Mat Dodd,
Chris (can't remember your second name),
Gary Driffield (sp)

super__dan 26-11-2007 10:17 PM

The ferry there leaves Hull at 7pmn, which is all great!

Problem is coming back, as it leaves Zebbrugge at 7pm and the meeting doesn't finish till 6pm. There is one from Rotterdam at 9pm, which despite being further away might be the best answer, and ready to leave after last leg of A sharpish!

chris68nufc 26-11-2007 10:30 PM

Chris Stewart. Dan you helped me out with a Novak 6.5 motor at Bury Regional last year.Do people know how much to sail? I have been told that it is cheaper to organise a one way there and a one way back to the UK as its cheaper? Strange but worth a try.

im not goin this year as much as i would love 2 . gonna be doin my first euros. im shocked at the amount of uk drivers that have entered in such a small space of time!! from my point of view its a shame so many ppl will miss out willy could cut the finals to 1 leg and sqeeze in another 30-40 drivers on both days. but thinkin of it parking and camping was a bit tight last year.

grant williams
p.s im a sponsored driver now woohoo. cheers dave at cml

CharlieF 26-11-2007 10:43 PM

Hi Craig.
Heard from a mate who does night shift. He thought we would be there and booked in! Only been driving RC cars for 2 weeks???? This is not true but I am sure the sentiment is correct.

LOL, who told you my plans?

Do you know if we can run Lipo in the race, or only for practice?

Reevsey 27-11-2007 11:32 AM

Guess we will have to wait and see what becomes Efra Legal, as they normally adopt all the rules with the exception of cut and shuts which are allowed, however i have noticed that next year they want truck racers to use truck tyres, did think the trucks looked strage last year with buggy tyres and a large truck body!!

Im pleased about that on truck tyres. Just got to fill them up with harder foams than usual to cope with the grip.

That is why i like belgium so much! i would rather rag a car round a track than race any day!!:p

Think thats why people say my car looks good in practice and it goes to pot in qualifying......:eh?:

Chris, myself and Craig Harris are staying at the below. It's bascially £40 a night/room.

http://www.etaphotel.com/etaphotel/f...he_hotel.shtml

This is near the airport which is about 10km from the track. The track is in a village out of town, I don't even remember seeing any accomodation any closer that this last year as we were about 18km away.

At the same location is an IBIS (expesive) and a Formule 1 (shared toilets and showers but £10 a night cheaper).

Planning on staying on 3rd, 4th and 5th, with overnight ferries on the wed and sunday nights.

rcracer 04-12-2007 06:04 PM

We booked in the B&B :p hope it aint like the " la bella " :D:D:D

Questions...

How long will it take to drive there (once you've left the UK)?
What's to do around the area (i've heard rumours along the lines of 'absolutely nothing')?

xx4-nutter 28-01-2008 08:14 PM

i hear its about an hour and a half, we gonna have to rush to get the ferry on the way home !

MattW 28-01-2008 08:15 PM

You're looking at about 2 hours drive from calais, and yeah it's fair to say there isn't a massive amount around the area. Not sure about the local towns in all fairnes, but we always camp and haven't botherd verturing too far away. There is a pub just around the corner that has this "odd" billiads type game. Also a couple of other pubs just about in walking distance that look ok, think one of them is a "sports bar" or at least it i think it used to be.

sly 28-01-2008 08:20 PM

2 hrs from dunkirk and bring your own loo roll.
