it is bury  what do you expect is going to happen when its up and running and looking new! vandals will amuse themselves at pulling it apart.

JonyNitro 06-03-2011 11:27 AM

In my eyes the contractor took possession of the track and all of it's components the day they started work on it and. when it is handed back to bury metro it should be perfect and ready to race on.just like it was when we handed it over
All in all it should be better than it was anything less isn't acceptable and won't be signed off by us the club as a group not left to one man

As for the burnt astro we didn't leave it in harms way did we so it will have to be replaced let's have it right and let's not take any shit!!!

Im sure the kids at goshen will have no problems knocking a wall of bricks down every night once they start the extension it would be cheaper for them to astro the lot !!!

johnnygibbon 07-03-2011 07:40 PM

Agree wi buds on this contractors got plenty of cash to fix it and burnt astro better not be part of any new track
Like the new position no more sun and weather on your face

I was passing by Goshen yesterday so I called into the track to take a nosey.

The exterior wooden fencing is almost complete. Hardcore is being laid and levelled to raise the track to assist with drainiage.

Looking good

Where is the rostrum and race control going? Come to think of it race control needs a makeover. A couple of sofas, larger tables, central heating, lick of paint and maybe a nice deep carpet.

woOdy 11-03-2011 12:11 PM

I have just had a trip down to talk about jumps. They tell me that all the jumps should be finished by the end of next week and then they will start to lay astro. WOW. Been told they want to be off this in 3-4 weeks!:woot:

That's great news!

Once it's finished we should have a night of racing/partying at the track to celebrate the opening.

rc10fan 11-03-2011 01:03 PM

Stu how did you get on with that guy about the turf ?

Great to see progress with the new track. That fence looks mighty fragile though against the local youths. I know they probably are just replacing like for like which is fair enough but we'd all be gutted if the track gets damaged after they have gone to all that trouble. It would be good to get a proper palisade security type fence really as it's more of a deterrent but I appreciate these things cost money. There might be someone who could get it at cost who is in the trade??

MikePimlott 12-03-2011 03:11 PM

Would have been nice if they had built a nice big industrial unit for a indoor track.

Wouldnt be anything to worry about then.

captainlip 12-03-2011 03:21 PM

Si Coe 13-03-2011 09:40 AM

Only if we don't hold a stealth, unofficial first test before hand.

In fact I think we need to open a pool on how long after completion it will be before Matt B is practicing on the track.
I'm going for 10 mins after the last builder leaves.......

JonyNitro 13-03-2011 09:54 AM

whilst the builder is there, with both their brushes in hands
