Wasn't there a ruling that former F1 drivers couldn't drop below a certain grade?

Certainly ex-F1's can't enter the F345's until 5 years after they loose F1 status.
I'm not sure if they bottom out somewhere, maybe only if they run yellow wheels.

I recall looking it up, but I could be wrong now. I think if a driver has ever finished a season in top25, he will then never ever drop below F3.

A driver's grade is for both classes.

So a mate of mine who was F1 in 2009 in 1/10 IC 200mm on road can't now do the F345s?

F' grades only apply to that type of racing and don't carry over anywhere else.
