OH MY GOD,

What a rediculous decision, I'm almost not sure I can be arsed either, will Damo as well?

We never ran sealed can motors at any kind of level other than beginer back in 1990 so why hold everyone back now?

:( :( :( :(

:(

super__dan 27-10-2007 11:48 AM

Batley vintage series???

Not cleared yet with Dianne but I'm sure she won't mind. 19t motors I think :)

Stu 27-10-2007 11:51 AM

Damian will only go with the 19t.

We may still be able to get what we want, it just needs some 'Driver-Power'.

Move to Batley, Ok if needed, need to get some dates & details from Dianne.

There is also Teeside ACES, Stewart has already said we can have a heat(s) of our own.

Southport GP on Feb 10th?

WHITTLER555 27-10-2007 12:11 PM

Hello, thanks for the text G!

We were running 18T singles in my RC10 in 1986!

Are we worrying about nothing here?

My suggestion is thus.

As it is a club meeting, who is going to scrutineer the cars? Nobody did last year, the Vintage heat was run in "the true spirit" whereby we each made sure each others cars were OK.

Are you actually suggesting that the club can afford to lose around 8 lots of fees?

As long as all the drivers in the vintage series agree, I honestly don't see who is going to enforce the rule??

What are they going to do, throw me out??

Who is enforcing the rule, G??

Northy 27-10-2007 12:19 PM

The decision was taken as a committee, I was for 19turn, but was in the miniority.

I'm not sure what to do, but I'd still like to run at York.

G

WHITTLER555 27-10-2007 12:22 PM

So my question is,

Who is going to enforce the rule?

Which person do we need to speak to?

I have never seen any car be scrutineered at a York club night.

Stu 27-10-2007 12:26 PM

We'll talk tomorrow.

Northy 27-10-2007 12:26 PM

I suppose the committee will enforce the rule, as there was a little talk about some of the 540 class cars actually being 'very fast' for a 540, and they are going to start random checks or something.

I'm affraid I can't comment to much as i AM a committee member :eh?::eh?:

G

Northy 27-10-2007 12:28 PM

And btw, I think Stingers Rock! :p:p:p:p:p:p:p

I'm sure you'll have a lot to say tomorrow though -

Northy 27-10-2007 12:31 PM

I actually just want to race, and have both types of motor, so am not that arsed.

It was still fun last year with the Stingers.

PS Stu, I have your t-shirt

G

WHITTLER555 27-10-2007 12:32 PM

It can't be a secret who is on the committee!

Are they going to be racing in the Vintage series?

If so then I can see they have a vested interest.

Northy 27-10-2007 12:35 PM

York officials:

Chairman - Derek Bradby
Secretary - Neil Dickens & Daryl Turnbull
Treasurer - Mike Cockerill
Committee - Mike Riley, Phil Studley, Simon Major, Graham North, Peter Metcalfe, Richard Coates
Drivers Rep - The dirty vermin

And how many of them will be racing in the vintage

super__dan 28-10-2007 07:00 PM

Medders,

We had a chat today and are all still going next week, hopefully Vermin will be sorting us out and everything will be OK.

If not I'm keen to run vintage at Batley.

Vintage at Batley sounds a great idea ;)

Col 29-10-2007 06:01 PM

Stuff the commitee lads, just agree between yourselfs and run whatever you like. Only G on the commitee is racing vintage anyway

Chrislong 29-10-2007 06:26 PM

I thought I heard Mike Riley and Phil were joining in with the Vintage capers, I could be wrong, but thats 3 committee members including Northy.

Im not racing in it, but agree with Damo. What can they do? If they tell you not to book in, then book in as 4wd and get Vermin to put each of your abilities to 1 (as a one-off) and therefore you'll have your own heat, and the vintage heat empty. You may have to score it yourselves to call it a series, but that can be done on paper can't it?

Too many rules?

Im dieing to see Stu's XLS smoke around. :D

Chris

Stu 29-10-2007 07:01 PM

We will do that.

To be honest I would have liked to have seen two vintage heats anyway; one 19t heat and the other a 'slow' motor heat for proper old-skool cars.

Jim thinks it may be an XL, rather than an XLS. He may be wrong, but he's not often wrong.

I wouldn't argue with him, one thing we can all be sure of is Jim won't state anything without knowing himself that it is fact... he's the oracle.

Rumour has it that he was wrong once, in around 2nd of Feb 1985.

G

Stu 29-10-2007 07:25 PM

Was that when he said 'Looks like it'll rain later' - but it turned out to be just a light shower?

Northy 29-10-2007 07:28 PM

That was it Stu. Oh, how we laughed when he told us the story...... :p:p:p

terry.sc 29-10-2007 07:41 PM

I'd say it's an XLS. It has the XLS front shock mounts (XL mounts the shocks vertically not angled back), the XLS bumper (XL is grey - XLS bumper won't fit an XL) and it's hard to tell but it looks like it has the XLS rear suspension spacers to widen the rear end.

But Terry, let me introduce you to Jim.... :D

Stu 29-10-2007 08:08 PM

Jim said something about the front driveshafts - maybe it's a bit of a hybred car. It has MMS diffs which are later, so maybe it's a bit of both.

Northy 29-10-2007 08:11 PM

I simply can not believe that Jim would be wrong twice in one lifetime, he would simply not allow it! :eh?:

super__dan 01-11-2007 05:44 PM

Gents,

Since getting home from Worksop on Sunday I've been in bed with a Virus for most of the week. As such I've not done anything to my cars.

I'm defo struggling with needing a MUCH smaller pinion for the mid (0.6 module?) I haven't emptied my car yet but later will try to get my tools to see what's on it at the moment. Damo have you got that gear chart and can anyone suggest a ratio?

My other problem is I forgot I've still not got any wheels, assuming I'm OK on sat day I'm going to MB models in leeds and hope he still carriees ZX5 wheels.

Annoyingly my RC10 after needing virtually no work since I got it is crapping it's diff at the moment, might see me a couple of runs on the weekend if needed but I comletely muffed the shocks by trying to put new oil in them the other week.

Everyone else more organised than me?

jimarea51 01-11-2007 06:12 PM

Hi Dan

If you want i'll rebuild your stealth diff, either at the weekend or int the week after...

Damo has a gear ratio chart I saw it at the weekend:D

I'm all ready for the Vintage championship now, I can't wait:rolleyes:

Jim

Northy 01-11-2007 06:35 PM

I'm almost ready..... :D

super__dan 01-11-2007 06:39 PM

Thanks Jim, much appreciated.

Do either of you have any 0.6 module gears?

Northy 01-11-2007 06:49 PM

Not me Dan, sorry :(

WHITTLER555 01-11-2007 07:29 PM

I will bring as large a selection of 0.6 module pinions as I can from the model shop.

super__dan 01-11-2007 08:17 PM

CHeers Damo, I'll start with the smallest and work my way up I guess.

Stu 01-11-2007 09:52 PM

My 19 showed up on Tuesday - looks good in the CAT.

G & me will try to avoid going to Sudd's on Saturday afternoon, we may be able to manage it.

super__dan 01-11-2007 09:58 PM

My 19t still hasn't turned up for the 4wd, though I do have Vermins old one in the RC10. It's also going to be lastminute.com whether these wheels and tyres turn up.

Has anyone else lost all faith in the Post Office service?

Assuming I get out of bed for a while tomorrow I need to cycle my 2000 cells to check they do actually work!

ben 01-11-2007 10:16 PM

ive got my rc10 all ready and raring to go. cant wait.:D

little ben

WHITTLER555 01-11-2007 10:28 PM

Sorry, have we got an address for Huntingdon school??

Can never remember where it is!

Steve 01-11-2007 10:32 PM
