Northy 06-04-2006 06:43 PM

Yeah, good call.

Who's still getting their cars ready? I've got the X10 prop in the freezer as I type...

And the house smells of tire glue.
And motor cleaner.
And soldering.
And tires.
And stuff......

Stu 06-04-2006 06:46 PM

Our house smells of curry, as do I.

Still? I don't think we've started yet?

Although my MP3 player is charged up :)

Oscar 06-04-2006 07:35 PM

Will I be allowed to pitch the old oOple tent next to yours or have you gone a bit too posh, what with all your new gear:smile:
Best save me a space, i wont be there till 9 or 10pm, or if its really cold and miserable about 7am Sat morning;)

jimmy 06-04-2006 07:43 PM

haha we will try john, vicky said something about being told where to pitch tents, if thats the case then we might not have any control!

emzy 06-04-2006 08:07 PM

Aye they usually direct you... unless you're really late (11.15pm last year!)... but you can always move when they've got their backs turned!

Major space needed saving for us... by the look of things we won't be leaving until about 10pm *scowl*. Dad just informed me he HASN'T taken the afternoon off work.Woo hoo. Not.

rich_cree 06-04-2006 08:11 PM

I might be being thick... but why?

My dad's still at the pub... no car building here!

Mrs oOple 06-04-2006 10:16 PM

Is your car going to be the drunken-build edition?

To try and un-glue it as I want to shorten it, but it's not working. :(
Will leave it in over night, then give it the old gas ring treatment in the morning, that'll shock it! :o

Going to bed now, I'm bushed...

barnyard 06-04-2006 11:00 PM

jimmy 07-04-2006 07:58 AM

Well, im all prepared now, both our B4's are still caked in mud from last weekend, got no tyres, foams or wheels and Ive lost a vital bit of steering gubbins from my b4! all good then!
But at least I have a shiney lovely bling new car to race in 4wd with a 3am paint job to boot.

If you're in need of tyres and wheels tomorrow Jimmy just ask me, I think I've over ordered (based on my ability) so will be able to spare a set, I think I’m short on foams mind.

jimmy 07-04-2006 12:03 PM

I think keith is coming down with a load of foams, I asked him to bring me some too so we'll see if he remembers :p

MikePimlott 08-04-2006 12:46 AM

GOOD LUCK EVERYONE AT KIDDY SUNDAY!!

jimmy 09-04-2006 09:02 PM

I had a bit of a nightmare on saturdays 2wd, but 4wd today well, nightmare wouldnt even come close! I was one place from being in the bottom final. Oh dear.
Too much messing about with the camera and not enough time working on the cars. :(

Nice one stu, like the middle one especially, and hey my orange beast on there too!

thanks for putting the photos on CD for me mate, much appreciated, unfortunately it allowed me to get 903 photos... no wonder i drove so bad.

niggs98 10-04-2006 07:36 AM

got to be a crash :P:P:P well its monday morning and i have finally defrosted lol god that was a hard weekend there but roll on tivvy and awsome pics jim even the one of me looking like a grumpy #@*% on mi marshal point but then again i had just popped mi knee :P

jimmy 10-04-2006 09:06 AM

Not sure how but my final was actually good in 4wd, I had such a rubbish day in 4wd and crashed every lap it seemed, then in the final from 10th on the grid I managed to race the entire 5 minutes without error and won it!
I liked the track for 4wd , I didnt like that lump of concrete that was just after the table top, it was on the apex of a corner but the corner obscured it. Evil it was.
At least the final made up for the naff performance all weekend.

I marshalled your race and your body must have come off half a dozen times in one of the rounds

jimmy 10-04-2006 10:58 AM

Aye, gutted I was.. Put the car down, worked, waggled wheels, worked.. set off, erm, nothing, dead!..
something seriously wrong with my Quantum2 in the zx5, I already replaced some wires and re did the switch (or rather john price did for me, thanks john) .. It seems to be when I put the throttle on it switches off or resets or something - sometimes.
when it worked I was already a lap down and vicky didnt manage to secure the shell properly..
I was all up for wanging my car into an immovable object at the end of that particular race!

Want to thank Nathan Ralls and Ian barnard for lending my cheap-self some tyres.

no worries but best you get yourself a xxx then i can help ya with fronts as well next time ;)

jimmy 10-04-2006 11:20 AM

hehe, I shaved down my green fronts a little, but the rear pinks you lent me on the B4 really helped, it was much more progressive than the greens. A shame they last so little time around there though, makes for an expensive day. :o

Me too! Car was awesome on Sunday and had my best ever finish at a National I think. Might have been able to qualify a bit better if it wasn't for traffic. :(

Really confident about 4wd this season now, and the B4's off well too!

Didn't get chance to say goodbye to many people on Sunday, we saw a gap we could get the car though so went for it before we got blocked in again. See you all next time.

Oh, and by the way, I wasn't Pissed on Saturday night! :D

Was that because you drove off before I had chance to hook it down properly? :jimmeh
Anyway, if the body came off 6 times then it was me and 5 other people that didn't manage :)

I didn’t give you my spares as I promised Jimmy, sorry! As expected I did have too many and brought three sets back with me, I even talked to you a few times about why you were using BB spikes, oops.

Nothing wrong with bottom finals, I made sure I was in them for both days… :) That way the best drivers are forced to watch/marshal my efforts, all done on purpose you see

jimmy 10-04-2006 03:02 PM

Cheers mate but I dint want to deprive you of your brand spankers :o Im slow enough to use bald ones and it wont make a difference anyway :p

someone was aparently selling tivvy tyres cheap on sunday, missed out dint I !! BAH! are they same as last years tyres ? the prolines I mean, I have some left over that only have a couple of runs on and they seem to last quite well

Oscar 10-04-2006 04:30 PM

Yep, same ones Jim, M3 step pins.
I have some of last years left also if your stuck (including new ones).

jimmy 10-04-2006 06:37 PM

This is one of my fave shots from the weekend, shame its not clearer tho, I think its ellis jumping over a tumbling barton ?? either way the bottom car came tumbling over the jump with ellis just behind and jumping clean over him from what I remember.:p

Aye right, I'm told Kidderminster traffic department are looking for their missing road signs.

jimmy 10-04-2006 09:25 PM

The first sign of being pissed is when you start denying it !

Chrislong 10-04-2006 09:59 PM

The second sign of being pissed is denying that you are denying it.

Where did that keep right sign go?! I was looking for it on Sunday morning after you 'placed it'... I wanted it for my bedroom wall!

WHITTLER555 10-04-2006 10:09 PM

G, your attempts to claim non pissedness (new word) will not pass Mrs Whittle's radar,

Slurring words
Blurry eyes
Demanding another lager
Pursuading everyone to have another lager
nicking "stealth" road signs

OH! and being told to behave by Mi Julie!!!

Never mind, we can have a re-match at Southport.

Stu currently holds the pissed world record at Southport for losing an expensive denim jacket on the track and never finding it again!

I am sure you can do better!
LOL:D

emzy 10-04-2006 10:57 PM

What about his little Batley incident?!
