"we are even concidering running it on the nice grass area outside Swansea county hall":lol:

I'd be up for either of those two

Always remember that track as it had that big tractor tyre in the middle as a corner.

Another good un was Caldicot, when they had an old BMX Track IIRC

peetbee 23-07-2010 03:10 PM

That was when it was down by the Castle wasn't it or the other venue they had. Both were good.

No that track was at the rugby club in Portskewet, right behind Darren Watsons house. Vera had put nomes and flowers in all the car tyres on the corners

Not sure if ive missed any posts regarding wrca at swansea? Any news yet?

Dyna 19-08-2010 04:43 PM

As Dave has said above - any news on the Swansea Regional and if its actually going to be held ?

Its only supposed to be 3 and a bit weeks away, nice to be able to plan ahead ?

big dave 20-08-2010 08:15 AM

As said before in this thread. Swansea will be holding its round. We haven't put anything on here yet, as we are trying to get a really nice venue, along with camping etc, just waiting for conformation, then we will post on here. i know time is ticking away, but we will run the round 100% as we have been offered the use of pembrook's track and we have had an offer from talywain, so it will go ahead.

it was true. but had the phone call yesterday saying we cant use it. The owner of pembrey motor circuit wanted us to run an event there so any spectators could come over and watch us racing inbetween the 1:1 car racing. so we would have been right in the thick of it. amazing bit of advertising for the rc sport. "BUT" as luck would have it, our date the 12th of septembre is the only date that there is no events on at the pembrey circuit. There are no dates left so we can't change the date. and the owner can't open up the circuit for just us to use, as the cost would be high. So we will arrange to hold an event there next year.

It's looking like we will use saundersfoot clubs track to hold our round, it balance's the championship that way, as there will be two rounds at talywains track, to the east and two rounds held at the pembrook track to the west.

hopefully next year Swansea will have another track for outdoor use, we have been fighting all year so far trying. We have had a planning permission application rejected for one plot of land, and no help from the council. so fingers crossed we can build a venue through the winter ready for the start of the season next April. We still have our indoor venue, so we are back in there from the first sunday of October

Jamie.T 21-08-2010 11:56 AM

That is a real shame Dave, bit I personally don't mind going to Saundersfoot either, it's such a great track and venue.

chris (reg) reardon 21-08-2010 03:07 PM

saunders foot track

the track is really well thought out beat axman there once see if i can make it a double :woot::thumbsup: all sounds good for swanse club next year though indoor sounds much better over the winter i,l b there:D

Pops 21-08-2010 03:11 PM

Good news all round then Dave...Back at your awesome indoor venue(any club or wrca indoor champs for the winter?) in october...Another round at Saundersfoot:thumbsup: and a new outdoor venue for Swansea next year:D I'd say thats a result:D

a few boys down here are buying 10th aswell to run as a second class with the micro, so it should be a good winter series this indoor season.
