Go

Right this may turn out to be the last post, we are entering the final hour, currently Rob J is trying his hardest to destroy the car, but failing that Rob B will have a go then roll over the line (hopefully). We are way back, not a snowballs chance in hell of co,ing anywhere else so just having fun really. the challenge is to get the car to roll over the line now, not spend the out lap in the pit lane.

The spares list is impressive, but our early rebuild thanks to Clodhopper the marshal was too much pit time to regain anything.

We actually managed to wear out a wheel bearing :o whiwh is pretty impressive.

right im offski, see you all on Fri. I think I may have to race the cat as my x6 is pretty much deaded now.

Shamcar1 is now back on home soil! Came off the tunnel around 10.55

We had a nice pizza and paul had some Chocolate ice cream too.

The mould on the bathroom roof didn't turn out to be a monster and eat us in the night.

chris brown 22-03-2010 01:09 PM

Great. We need to see photos.
Sounded like a fab experience.

I think you will find the condition of your car now is pretty much the same as before I rebuilt it. Only difference is that the bearings are a lot smoother.

Hey I resent that. I made the car last an whole hour after being told that the shocktower had been cracked, the rear tyres were knackered and the spur gear was on its way out.

P.s standing in the same position for an hour and concentrating heavily on driving a very badly handling car for an hour is seriously bad for your health. Plus I was dying for a ciggarette!

Had a fantastic time
made to my home 2am ish this morning  absolutly knackered..

the journey down,up & down again was fun :woot: omg

Lloyd slept all the way back to nottm, we had Kfc in notts  then Lloyd slept all the way down to the lodge and after a pit stop

then after tunnel in france and belgium Lloyd slept :woot: he woke up about a 1/2 mile from the venue and then stayed awake awhile only to say "i could do with a sleep" at which point both myself and Rob J looked at each other "You gotta be joking, you slept the whole journey" :woot:

Lmao

also the T-shirt part was hilarious, everyone is a medium except me & Lloyd, im a large & then XL for Lloyd who's answer was "actually i cant type it i would be banned  " untill he put it on and then "oh okay it fits just " lmao lol

more to come

I'm surprised you didn't have to keep nudging lloyd on the rostrum to keep him awake :woot::thumbsup:.

Surprisingly he was fine on the rostrum :woot:

Another thing on the way down, thanks to a lovely pot-hole (crater) in kent on the back roads to the tunnel, I could'nt go above 80mph for the rest of the journey there or back ..........

Dave Dodd 23-03-2010 10:25 AM

Raw-material Rob is the man for his excellent work on the reinforced front shock tower  which we then did'nt need :woot:
although have got to say his tools (dremal drill and dremal bits) did'nt like actually fit each other so he turned back into Angry Rob  so if you could get by with the drill bit that was fitted you were fine.....:lol:

Oh yeah dead alert. I think those horse tranquilisers that were suggested to keep ant from breaking the car would have been a waste of time since he was pretty much asleep most of the time anyways. Needs to eat more fruit!

antnee 23-03-2010 05:36 PM

Just like to say what a good time was had by all! I would also like to thank the BRCC for their hospitality and to also providing some awesome mid-race food! Thanks to Lowie and GP for making us feel welcome.

I have never done 39 hours with only 50mins sleep before but it seems that it actually improves my driving (RC driving only - the drive to the hotel was a bit surreal).

Speaking of the hotel - Antnee is not joking about the mould on the bathroom ceiling!!! Well what do you expect for €20?! I honestly didint think that my car (with all the gear in the boot) would be there in the morning.

I think that the funniest sight of the race was looking down from the rostrum at the 1/8 rallycross style pit area and seeing the other teams areas which consisted of a couple of allendrivers, a pair of rear tyres and a stopwatch - compared to ours which had - ALL of our allen drivers, roll-ups fags, tobacco, matches, bodyclips, my hastily home made spare drive pins, two empty drinks bottles, our cardboard pit lollypop, gaffa tape, stopwatch, CB radio etc etc - and yes we had encroached into our neighbours pits!

All in all a great experience - and good astro-turf practice!!!:woot:

The Doctor 23-03-2010 10:14 PM

Five minute races this Friday are going to seem so short. Maybe Lloyd & Anthony will even be able to stay awake for the whole race meeting. I might bring a pineapple just in case they nod off - they make surprisingly good wake-up alarms (ask Anthony about that...).

antnee 23-03-2010 11:12 PM

Who, what, why me?

My little summary of the trip and race

Stuff we like;

JP and Ludo, and the rest of the BRCC crew
the pizzeria we went to
Home made pit lollypops
Robs motor
The road markings

Stuff we didn't like
Needing more Pringles and Doritos
A brown jumper wearing marshal
potholes
X6 nose cones

CougarRob 24-03-2010 07:10 PM

I think that considering we lost over 270 laps due to the chassis breakage in the middle of the night we did really well to finish only 5 laps behind the 9th place team!!!!!! Go Le Shambles Team!!:woot:
