Over mine more like. His set up was that good he got 12 laps in the D final. A poor drive as always...

Least my car was slow cos it was upside down for a lap due to the fact some tosser just decided not to marshal...

Shifta 03-03-2010 05:45 PM

Pete, I've watched you when I've been marshalling and the biggest problem I can see is your car is far too fast for you, It seems like its flat out or nothing.. Slow it down a bit, learn to drive it round the track under control without crashing at every apportunity then make it faster.. You'll soon see that a fast car isn't always what you need!

Good advice. What speedo are you running pete. I have found this makes a huge difference.

b4pete 03-03-2010 08:05 PM

I have a choice of 3, SXX, RS PRO and SPHERE, i like the rs pro best.

I have taken stock of what happens, when i make a mistake/ball joint comes out (lol) i start to go faster to catch up and make more mistakes.
Its my competitiveness coming out. I race motorcycles and do well so have a 'will to win'
Im going to slow it right down this weekend and see how i get on

chrispattinson 04-03-2010 09:05 AM

I think playing on bikes is for kids......
....toy cars is where its at

I dont think any of the cars are weak.... haway Gaz, you can't say the TRF cars aren't strong.

A tip for breaking shock towers...... curve a pit of lexan over the front tower for rollover protection.. see mine on Sunday night.

I think you're on the right track though, the best thing you can do to strengthen your car, is throttle exp -25% and Throttle EPA 65%!

Another tip is to use super glue (thin stuff) on top of the carbon, where is its been cut, you will find the carbon soaks up quite a bit of glue, once dry i find the carbon stronger.

If anyone would like a shock tower, flat top or bottom deck, made from the same carbon as real 2010 F1 cars, let me have your composite one and I'll have a replica made. Free if it doesn't fit exactly, def cheaper than any commercial operation in the UK. May take a bit of time, they come from Italy.
