RB5 SP2? whats that ? the sp with the central motor?

Alex H 13-03-2010 06:31 PM

That is correct. Guess they did not feel the need to rename the car because of that. No other difference what so ever so buy the umw516 and you got your self a SP2.

Fabs 04-04-2010 11:28 PM

I just got word that the FS 2 will be out in May.

And confirmation of a new motor layout, although nothing more than that.

jaank 06-04-2010 12:44 PM

Will there be a KIT too?

njc11 06-04-2010 03:39 PM

Are you 100% sure on that?????

njc11 06-04-2010 07:50 PM

I would be very supprised if they move the motor position...

From the petit... it was a new shell, new lipo chassis (no cut outs for cells) and a new slipper..that was going to appear...

I was told TODAY FS2 will be end of this month.

And spec sheet says new motor layout, that's all we know.

Nick, that's also what Shin said at the petit, but the car wasn't ready either so he may have decided to change more things...

If this is true, wonder if Kyosho UK got retail price & some more details.

Cool... all we expected then! Lipo friendly car, running i guess the " Mid arm " or latest SP rear arms with single hole fixing on the wishbone.

The "unique motor layout cancels out torque effects" will be the new slipper set up that Shin was running at the Petit!

At the bottom of the page when replying to thread, there is section "Additional Options". Under there, there is "Manage Attachments". There you can upload pictures to your post.

Here are pictures low definition. I also have high definition but too big for the forum...

Twister 09-04-2010 09:55 AM

Looks great  Might be my next car really:drool:

Fabs 09-04-2010 10:06 AM

:cry::cry::cry::cry::cry::cry::cry:

I was told this car will be much more expensive than the FS and TBH I don't see any reason for that...

littlened 09-04-2010 10:09 AM

I've only just finished upgrading my ZX5 to the SP version

I don't have any info concerning the retail price... as you say Fabs, I would not understand why it should be more expensive...

olefiloux 09-04-2010 10:46 AM

Because Jared Tebo signed all the new pieces with his littles hands....

Hobie 09-04-2010 10:50 AM

Then you will finally come back to the 'mother company' my friend ;)

Hobie 09-04-2010 11:19 AM

As you can see on pictures, the rear arms are not the last ones from the Ultima with only single hole for shocks...

jaank 09-04-2010 03:07 PM

Not new arms again:thumbdown:
What should i do with my endless supply of LA255-s

njc11 09-04-2010 03:24 PM

The arms are the mid arms LA243 or um521  both these have 2 holes for fixing the shock bottoms.. um521-1 has the single hole only..

You would still need LA255 for your front wishbones!

kek23k 09-04-2010 11:26 PM

So is this an FS with the old Rear-mid conversion on it? I'm liking the new shell, reminds me of the YZ-10 I think:thumbsup:

mes 10-04-2010 01:35 PM

Although I like Kyosho a lot, I think the new shell is plain ugly. It reminds me of the Losi 8ight T influenced yucky low sitting Nitro shells.

Maybe they should have taken the Optima Mid bodies as a basis to work on, even the old Lazer ZX shell looks better.

The mainfold suspension options meanwhile have become really confusing. I'm glad I sold my SP in early 2009.

carlin 16-04-2010 09:02 AM

Hi Guys,

Do we have anymore details on this FS2,it' upgrade kit aint it?

Any ideas of Retail price for the upgrade?

jaank 23-04-2010 12:07 PM

Looked my arms at the desk.
I've got 10pairs of arms.
2pairs are there from the ZX-5.
4pairs are the KYOUM521.
4pairs are the KYOLA255.

So win-win for me.
And i finally realized that my car has KYOUM521 rear arms and hopefully the KYOUM519 rear axles. Oh, what a good day.

EDIT: Can i use the KYOUM519-2 with KYOUM521 or i have to use KYOUM519?

johan neyens 24-04-2010 06:24 AM

I am looking for a new 4wd car.I am not completly happy with the yokomo and the big bores. Is it still woth buying the fs and spares? Or is it best to wait for the new car? I race in belgium where we have small astroturf tracks.

Wich shops do you buy parts from?

Thanks!
