rcyogi 06-04-2006 06:14 PM

I tell you what this car is worth every penny, this is a easier car i have ever built, the quality is just unbilivable. Great fit a finish, comes together really nice. I hope it runs as good as it looks!

jimmy 06-04-2006 06:23 PM

Its a shame there aren't Ti screws, I think that would be max-blingage, but still, for the money you are still getting a lot of car.

rcyogi 06-04-2006 09:07 PM

I tell you something the screws included in the kit are great, i like them better then the ones on my Predator, and hell of lot better then the ZX5.
In fact is one of the things I like the most on the car, they are really strong.

jimmy 06-04-2006 09:16 PM

true they are good screws, not quite as nice as a set of lunsfords tho ;) the car looks like it would weigh a lot when done, anyone any idea ?

Northy 06-04-2006 09:48 PM

Have you got one Jimmy?

jimmy 06-04-2006 09:58 PM

rcyogi 07-04-2006 12:25 PM

Ohhhhhhhhhh how can you lie like that! thati sno right! lol.
Nice job, how long did it take you to put it together?

rcyogi 07-04-2006 12:26 PM

Any tips for me before i finish mine?

jimmy 07-04-2006 12:33 PM

Dont really have any tips as such, I got the rear diff in the wrong way round , just meant it was to the side a little, fixed it now.. the turnbuckles definately do need greasing before putting the ball ends on.
The car is so easy to put together and theres so little work that theres not much to say!

jimmy 07-04-2006 12:34 PM

Oh, ive had the car over a week, so its taken me that long. thats with doing the review and photos etc though which takes up a lot of time

PaulRotheram 07-04-2006 01:25 PM

sorry but that side of the shell is just as ugly as the x-5's 'lump'.

any cml driver gives the x-5 shell abuse ill throw some back at them too:D

ive knew about this for ages and had to keep mi mouth shut :(

DCM 07-04-2006 01:44 PM

I think the 'lump' has been far better executed on the Yokomo though, and that goes for the rest of the shell, it looks far more 'designed' than a runny blob of resin oozed over a car.

rcyogi 07-04-2006 01:57 PM

The only part I did wrong was the universal, put the short one in the rear, everything else is going in nicely.

PaulRotheram 07-04-2006 05:44 PM

yes but at least the x5 shell is being honest about having a lump, the yoke shell is trying to hide the fact its there, in a crap kind of way.

maybe its the blue influenceing me, i dont like it as its a common colour on cars it seems:rolleyes:

Wait a min, those tires aren't the Schumacher mini pins.... are you guys running on American style tracks now? ;) Nice looking car there Jimmy. I anxiously await your review.

jimmy 11-04-2006 06:27 PM

hehe took it out on 2wd day with Ian Barnards Euros (for this upcoming Euros in Austria) tyres on the car- not glued up, just for photos! ;) looks all american tho on the dirt with those tyres.. I actually glued up schumacher yellow mini spikes which turned out to be somewhat of an error.
Thanks again to Ian Barnard for saving the day by lending me his practice tyres so i could dominate my final ! lol

Mike_stening 27-04-2006 09:15 AM

jimmy, noticed on your photos you dont have any dust covers on the diffs, i assume it comes with some or do you have to fashion your own?
