Mike West 09-07-2007 11:27 AM

Would like to echo peoples comments and thank all at NERCR for the excellent day's racing.

Just spoke to the council this morning (for 2 reasons) and they're were very impressed with the cars and the way it was run. On a side note Andy Buyer would like to thank everyone in there support on removing the Gazebo from my car and there attitude towards it.

Look out for the photos on NERCR website soon.

Still absolutely gutted that I missed this but majorly glad it went well!

How was the weather?

Was Saturday also the day of the parade and stuff?

NeilD 09-07-2007 11:55 AM

It rained for 10 mins then warm and dry the rest of the day.

At least you will have got to go up Ben Hogh!

emzy 09-07-2007 12:18 PM

lol! Not this time!

I did in October... this time it was more swimming in the sea... lovely and "refreshing"!

Have you been to Coll?

NeilD 09-07-2007 12:37 PM

I've been up the Coll. I usually base around Fort William and venture out from there. I really like Ardnamurchen point, the most westerly point of the UK mainland. The waves that crash around the lighthouse make me feel really insignificant and the power of the water is amazing.:)

I know what you mean Neil, this is a picture of a supply boat in the north sea about 150 mile west of the shetlands, you can see at the back of the boat there are containers Like the ones at bury but they look tiny, when we look down on these boats coming in the people look like ants on board the boats are so big, but this wave is super scary.

NeilD 09-07-2007 01:37 PM

We should all respect the ocean. The pic you hosted gives an idea of it's power combine that with the noise and it can be well scary. When i was at Ardnamurchen i stood for about an hour totally hypnotised by it it was amazing.

Lee 09-07-2007 01:52 PM

Today its like a mill pond its so calm but it is amazing to watch when there are huge waves, also its not nice when you get swells of 15metres+.:o

NeilD 09-07-2007 01:58 PM

Where are you?

Lee 09-07-2007 02:07 PM

Right now im in a dock in lowestoft commissioning 4 new platforms to go to doha but they still fly us 400m from the edge of the jetti:D Health and safety gone mad!!!

Its safer than climbing the legs of the platform allegedly, i just hope the rotor doesn`t fall off:o :D

Its a cushy job i had from the bury regional till the york regional off.;)

NeilD 09-07-2007 02:12 PM

Thats a cool job.:)

Lee 09-07-2007 02:17 PM

Aberdeen was the best place to work, but it got to the point that i was spending £500 a week just from going out at night and my digs:D

Ill have december off too when i go out to florida for the JC race because i think she wants to take the little ones to disney land;) :D

NeilD 09-07-2007 02:26 PM

£500 per week! Where did you go drinking?

Lee 09-07-2007 02:28 PM

Aberdeen is dead expensive, you can easily do a £100 a night up there, especially when you get dragged to the lap dancers:D

NeilD 09-07-2007 02:31 PM

How weak are you, forced to visit the lap dancers.:D :D :D

Lee 09-07-2007 02:35 PM

My excuse is,

" i didnt want to be left alone in a foreign country all alone!"

:D

NeilD 09-07-2007 02:38 PM

I'll believe ya! Bet you won't be doing that in the US though.:D

Lee 09-07-2007 02:47 PM

Ha Ha one word

Excellent meeting, weather was good for a change, nice to see the crowd watching as well, parade was good to see also.
Big well done to all concerned, thoroughly enjoyed it but both Greg & Natalie had faces like beetroots on sat night due to sunburn!!!
Hope the council back the clubs plans for a venue nearby, got my fingers crossed for you all.
