DAN: I knew leaving the S4 on your table all night would sway you LOL

If you pop up the club before you run it we'll get the clutch set up right for you, it's REALLY important to get it set just so.

ANDY/RICH: What is the recomended setting for a plastic nut? I run the metal nut in mine backed off just under 1 turn.

Richard Lowe 04-04-2007 07:47 PM

It's exactly the same as far as adjusting it goes. I like to set mine a bit loose for a run or two with new slipper pads/plates (remembering to threadlock it ;) ) while they bed in. Then I remove the screw and nut; re-threadlock and re-adjust. I normally hold the spur and insert an allen driver into the slipper outdrives and set it by feel, it usually works out to be about one turn out.

Don't forget to squeze the spring a few times before you assemble it for the first time :)

Body Paint 04-04-2007 10:01 PM

Thats exactly how I do mine, I thought I remembered being told the plastic nut settings were different.

Thanks Rich dude;)

dan_kitty 04-04-2007 10:07 PM

cheers, watching all the s4's whizzing around has pushed me into upgrading my 4wd, so a bj4we seems like a step in the right direction. Wont be doing any carpark bashing with this kit so club will be its first run.

cheers

Andy Moore 05-04-2007 02:20 AM

Kits should be available next week, so if youre on the pre-order list, or have a standing request for one, you should be good to go.

dan_kitty 08-04-2007 05:23 PM

yay, id better start making some saddle packs up, what is a good length for the connecting wire between the two packs. Never used saddles before.

thanks

PaulRotheram 08-04-2007 07:44 PM

This is the way i did it, a quick diagram:

http://paulrotheram.doughtyuk.net/misc/wirelength.jpg

put connectors together on opposite side, then from the left to the right solder the wire on.. when you turn the cells back around the wire should be a perfect length for the BJ4.

This is the way i've done mine, and have worked great.

dan_kitty 09-04-2007 08:57 AM

great description and diagram, very helpfull cheers!

Body Paint 09-04-2007 09:41 AM

They also fit very neatly in the B4 that way Dan;)

Nice pic Paul:cool:

Andy Moore 10-04-2007 03:26 AM

[PaulRotheram] -Thanks, that is definately an easy way to build the saddle packs right!

Andy Moore 13-04-2007 02:27 AM

We have both the original kit in stock as well as Worlds kits for those interested. They wont last long though, haha.

Well first national over and I've gotta say my BJ4 WE was nothing short of awesome in every way! It was so close on that track the results coulda gone to any number of people and both myself and Rich Barton where right up there at the sharp end most of the day. We both agreed that the car felt superb.

SPRCIAL AGENT 19-04-2007 09:41 AM

Lee 19-04-2007 09:47 AM

Richard,

Do you have a generic setup that you start with for the usual astro/grass tracks in the uk?

mattym0310 19-04-2007 09:57 AM

Got my bag today, went together like a dream and the composite boxes seem well sturdy, should stand up to years of use and abuse!

By the way, the bloke in the pic isn't really small, the bag is huge!!!!

I bet I could get everything in mine with a bit of reorganisation, including both cars :)

The allen drivers are dialled :D

Chris Doughty 19-04-2007 07:59 PM

Cree, Barton and Lowe - are you going to be running the dialled white cups?

PaulRotheram 19-04-2007 08:02 PM

I'd like one of them bags, but i don't know if it'd agree with fitting in the punto!!!!

Of course!

Just need to find some turnbuckles for the funky rear ones :)

jimmy 19-04-2007 08:48 PM

does it need shorter ones? I might have to get some to keep up with the current trends. That and some Tamiya arms on the front would be cool.

Yes, the extended rear ball cups require:
BJ4 - 1.33" turnbuckle
RC10B4 - 1.33" turnbuckle
RC10T4 - 1.775" turnbuckle

I believe that the 1.33" length is from the TC3, if you have an old one laying around.
