Just want to give a big thanks to Chris Pattinson for all the work organising this weekend. For me it was brilliant with no problems...

Looking forward to next year.....

i'd also like to thank everyone who helped this weekend. Especially david pack for running race control on sat. So i could race.

ben 24-05-2009 09:28 PM

Big thanks to everyone who helped run the event! Both tracks were cool, i personally prefered the 2wd track, thought it flowed better.
The team did a great job of sorting out the 4wd track problems.
Well done to James for the double win

4wd results were something like this:

1. James chappel Pred
2. Damian whittle 501 x
3. Stephen lawson B44
4. Ben riley? B44
5. Arslaan butt B44
6. Ben Jemison B44
7. Craig Collinson Losi XX4
8. Vernon? Shoemaker CAT SX
9. Danneth? X5
10. 3 times european A-finalist X5

mattym0310 24-05-2009 10:08 PM

great weekends racing, thanks very much to those involved in organizing and running the meeting and welldone to James for the double win :)

emzy 25-05-2009 04:07 AM

Did Papa-Bear Shields make an appearance?

chris68nufc 25-05-2009 06:46 AM

Excellent weekends racing. Track was superb for both days. Big thanks to Chris Pattinson for sorting the whole thing out and to everybody else that helped make it work.
I even heard people touting Shields for a National event next year!!

Well done.

chrispattinson 25-05-2009 07:08 AM

Big thanks to everyone me thinks. All the Jarrow members, good effort by all.
Really enjoyed the weekend, especially the moving jumps!

WHITTLER555 25-05-2009 07:35 AM

Thanks to all the organisors up at South Shields, really good weekend, weather was kind and the location is spot on.

Unlike Ben I didn't get on with the 2WD track, just couldn't get the jump in fron of the rostrum right consistently.

After the alterations were made to the 4WD track I thought it flowed better than 2WD, sorry Ben:wub

Just a shame that damn Pred didn't crash one more time........:woot:

super__dan 25-05-2009 07:54 AM

Great weekend, great tracks, loved the jump in front of the rostrum in 2wd!

Stu 25-05-2009 09:41 AM

I liked both tracks - in my opinion they were as good as any grass tracks I've raced on ever - :)

I hope the Oswestry national track it as good next week.

Lee 25-05-2009 07:26 PM

Well done to the team again, last years was fab and this years was as good if not better, in fact it was better!!

2wd for me was good, the x6 was dialled in rd 2 and 3, maybe i just stopped being a girl?

4wd was a nightmare all day apart from practice  but thats racing.

I don't think anyone would begrudge the club a national you have everything there in my opinion.

Ps, i think we need an "is bents park track raceable" so you guys don't feel left out

Shifta 25-05-2009 08:39 PM

Yep an Awesome weekend!
Loved both tracks and its good to race somewhere so open to the public and they saw some great racing
Thanks to everyone involved in the weedend..
Nice one Jarrow...
I've got video's of both A finals + 4wd B + trucks I'll post a link when I've had chance to up load them

chris68nufc 25-05-2009 09:04 PM

Hope you got the move in then final 4 wd!! What a difference with referees by the way??

chrispattinson 26-05-2009 07:12 AM

Yes, the referees were excellent. I was ref'd all day by Footy, and he did a great job. I think all of the finals were excellent to watch and race in. I had a good race with Chris Hirst and Mike Hudson (sorry for shouting Mike), the B final looked ace with Jeff , Stu Flamson, and Chris Stewart and Stephen Adams having a great race, and the A final was excellent aswell.

dayxwalker 26-05-2009 12:00 PM

I thought the refs were a great addition to the raceing wish we could have them all the time !

Northy 26-05-2009 12:14 PM

Sounds like a good meeting, sorry I could not be there guys :(

About the refs, I think I'll know the guys who did it, and basically they will have all done it on the day as well as racing. ANYONE can have a go at reff'ing, don't just expect these people to do it at every round. If you fancy having a go, why not help one of these guys at a round? Stand next to them, learn from them, then volunteer at the next round?

Anyone can ref, it just takes a bit of experience, but you don't get that without doing it. 'The refs' are 'The racers' they are the same people. Why don't you have a go next time? :) -- the 'you' in this last sentence doesn't refer to anyone in particular btw, it refers to everyone.

Kash 26-05-2009 01:44 PM

I really enjoyed the meeting Both days tracks were good so well done to all involved

ben 26-05-2009 02:28 PM

Just one question... how come we ran open practice for 2wd but not in 4wd? Not a complaint!

chrispattinson 26-05-2009 02:46 PM

Open practice occurred for 2WD as it was easier for the organisers, who were still preparing things that morning, we only have so many hands to help. (I think I was outside the park putting up posters etc. for example when practice got underway).

It was discussed on the Saturday night that it was one of the shortcomings of the day, and so (with Chris Stewarts emphasis on fair practice for everyone), he controlled all of the timed practice on the Sunday for 4WD.

ben 26-05-2009 02:54 PM

Good decision

autonm 26-05-2009 10:03 PM

I can't believe no one has thanked me for running race control on the Saturday and helped on the Sunday.

You all should be ashamed of yourselves, next year I will do the race control again but I want FREE entry for 4wd.

Thats right FREE!!! entry and no one give me that credit crunch BS.

I enjoyed the weekend, apart from being sick little an amateur on Saturday night!!

dpackster1980 10-06-2009 06:27 PM

Dam it I forgot to mention thanks folks for not remebering my name at the drivers breifing god I've caused enough greif over the years.

From this day onwards Mr S. Pearse will be known as Mr Purse and Mr G. North will be known as Mr G. Norton.

My name is David Pack also known as the stirrer as well as various other obscenities.

turbo_brick 10-06-2009 06:29 PM

You've got no chance getting free entry :p

As for thanks look at my post a page back.

Grief...??? Thats not grief.... And i liked the spelling mistake. Added a nice touch. Not sure if calling northy graham norton is a good idea though.....

I also wouldn't take Pack seriously. We regularly Call him worse...

David, stay off the cans through the week cos it effects your typing... Or was it your Tampax finger getting in the way...???

As for sunday, wasn't the computer on automatic... There was this strange guy who used to race at our club standing there and playing with the microphone a bit mind...
