Very tidy!

Is it going to be raced or a shelf queen?

gainsy 14-02-2016 06:32 PM

 Top job
Hope that's going to the revival

xfactor 14-02-2016 07:06 PM

Cheers Lads,

Mark,

This is my racer. Im going to Broxtowe this coming Sunday to run and test it.

Gainsy,

Oh yes. Its the main reason I have done it, to run it at the Iconic weekend. It will be my first time at this meet. I will have my Cougar 2 shelfers there also on show....:thumbsup:

MHeadling 14-02-2016 08:12 PM

Good stuff! Try and get some video of it running

I promise we won't take the piss out of your driving!

xfactor 14-02-2016 08:46 PM

:lol::lol::lol::lol::lol::lol::lol::lol::lol::lol: :lol::lol::lol:

Cheers Marko. I will try and get some body to video it...

DerbyDan 15-02-2016 11:23 AM

Looks absolutely mint - Mark! I imagine this is going to fly!

I like the fact that you didn't trim your AE battery cups down (in length) like I did..... this gives you the flexibility to move the battery backwards & forwards.

BTW what are those front tyres - not seen those before?

xfactor 15-02-2016 12:27 PM

Cheers Dan,

The front tyres are proline. I believe these give slightly less grip than yellow so hope they are go between yellow and green low profile staggers. We shall soon fined out........:woot: I nearly did trim the battery holders down.....

I do have the others for testing, so will try and give a report back on how they work against yellow and green schumachers.

Peakey 15-02-2016 01:08 PM

Looks great mark I'll try and get up Sunday and see it run

xfactor 15-02-2016 10:24 PM

Yes Dan.....

How did it go last year...

Danf1275 16-02-2016 05:58 PM

I can safely say it went as well as my ability allows. Finished towards tail end of A final. 100% reliable though.

xfactor 16-02-2016 06:51 PM

Nice one Dan.....

Cougar 2 runner. UPDATE.

Went to broxtowe today. Cracking day all in all. Had the cougar out and it never let me down all day.

Ran a 7.5 with NO !! belt slip or diff problems. Pro diff super smooth. Car handle very well and handled the 7.5 in blinky with no issues. No breakages either.

I ran the stagger ribs and proline ribs and I prefer these over the stagger rib. A lot more safe for this buggy in the dry on astro. These are not as snatchy as the staggers I found. Good high speed and low speed turn in.

Cant wait for the Iconic now !! Roll on July.......:thumbsup:

Retro RC 13-04-2016 08:23 PM

What gearing did you run with the 7.5

xfactor 13-04-2016 08:26 PM

Hi Adrian,

I ran 23t pinion and 89t spur.

Retro RC 13-04-2016 08:32 PM

Sweet thanks mark I was thinking 25 /89 for my 8.5 so not far off

xfactor 13-04-2016 08:33 PM

You about right with that matey......

stuey 14-04-2016 07:15 AM

Car looks great

DerbyDan 14-04-2016 08:29 AM

Think I'm running a 24 pinion on an 89 spur in my Cougar - with my 6.5 - but then its quite a mild (fixed zero timing) Hacker motor. It runs cool & fast on this gearing ;) - the same motor & gears are used in my ProCat.

Mark.... your Cougar2 looks absolutely ace in action... when are we going to have a Cougar shoot-out at Hinckley?

xfactor 14-04-2016 10:03 AM

Cheers Dan,

Hinckley starts this Saturday 16th. I will be there this week, but with a modern 2wd.

After this week any Saturday matey................

Will have a word with Steve also, to tell him to get his out....:woot:
