yes, it is a B-max4 iii , should have put in in somewhere ...

the steering blocks from the YZ-2 are not tesame ... the carbon piece looks to be , but the turnblock itself is different , a lot stronger than the one for the YZ-2 ... i did a check myself :-p lol

skyaflake 06-08-2015 12:19 PM

Of course the blocks aren't the same. It's a 4WD car :p.

What is a turnblock? I have no clue about which part you are talking about. :woot:

Hans Wynants 06-08-2015 01:04 PM

sorry, Skyaflake i'm not so perfect as you

i meant Steering block . never had english in school , so am just doing my best...

neallewis 06-08-2015 02:02 PM

Lee's Euros car:

skyaflake 06-08-2015 02:35 PM

Like i already thought, 3D Printed front hubs - better to see now. Looking good. Curious if Martin will take another win. He was fast in 2WD.

@Hans Wynants
"sorry, Skyaflake i'm not so perfect as you" -

I just asked, because first you write 'steering block' and then you write 'turnblock'. I was thinking you meant different parts. No biggie.

Spotted what looks like a centre gear diff on Shin's facebook page, photo of car overnight rebuild.

That's a rear diff 😋 since it's there's not one sitting in the car in that pic lol

skyaflake 07-08-2015 07:32 AM

Indeed, they are still running a slipper. No problem, but they weren't happy with the results yesterday. Hope that Shin may comes up with something.

No look again.

I think the one in the car is a slipper with the new ventilated disk.

neallewis 07-08-2015 10:37 AM

New vented slipper is for YZ2, not BMAX4. Bmax4iii slipper is already vented.

This attached below looks nothing like a slipper.

J77MYF 07-08-2015 10:39 AM

Whatever it is it didn't seem to be working.

neallewis 07-08-2015 07:10 PM

Slipper is working great, but they are all a little off the pace with the car. Lee is 3rd overall after three rounds, so not that bad.

I've had a play with the slipper and spoken to Shin about it today. It's a pre-production/test part, and fits in place of the slipper lovely. Who knows if it will be made or used in the new car?

mes 11-08-2015 06:17 PM

For some reason I doubt it. :)

neiloliver 17-08-2015 07:35 PM

YZ-4 now advertised on MB Models website and no one has commented. What do we know about this car? I cannot find much when I google it.

dikke hond 17-08-2015 07:49 PM

It's 4wd :D

dikke hond 17-08-2015 07:50 PM

Double post....

Ball type centre diff which is why they are running covers to stop dirt ingress protecting the balls and plates.

eh?

No. it was a centre gear diff. I held it and played with it, and spoke to Shin about it. It was prototype 3d printed parts, with regular gear diff innards, and a 2wd gear diff casing machined down some to fit. Spur was attached with screws. fitted perfectly in the slipper space. There were four, Lee, Marc, Tom and Shin had a spare.
If the new car is belt drive, I doubt we'll see this part in production, however.
Was meant to make the car easier and more consistent to drive.

I'm expecting the new car or a pre-production prototype to début at the Nurburgring EOS next month, in prep for the Worlds.

ayske1 06-09-2015 01:01 AM

So my understanding is the yz-4 may be released after the ifmar world's. Does the buggy not have to be in production already if it were to be used in the worlds... Or maybe that was an assumption it would be used in the world's

RobW 06-09-2015 09:37 AM

Pretty sure there is no rule about cars having to be commercially available (if that is what you mean?) at IFMAR events so IF they use a new car it could be in prototype or pre-production form?

I'm pretty sure that's only a rule in a stock class.

skyaflake 06-09-2015 11:00 AM

That's a rule in "real" racing, not when racing with model cars. :p

There will be some info on the Yz4 soon. Just wait a bit.

mes 06-09-2015 05:06 PM

It will be the 4WD equivalent of the YZ-2, that's good enough for me.
Shut up and take my money already, TY!

bomber 16-09-2015 08:15 AM

Got to see the car doing a few laps last night @ Maritime it looked very good, sorry no close up shots of the car but here is one of the master at work.

Lee did say we would not have long to wait

Is it me or is Shin now becoming the Adrian Newey of the RC world? His designs etc just seem to be golden.

badger5 16-09-2015 09:14 AM

They were testing at Torch on Sunday as welll with Carson Wernimont, was he at Maritime as well? Looks like a release will be soon.

Yes he was there.

skyaflake 16-09-2015 10:14 AM

Great  How silent is the car? Just curious ;)

Of course, I'm getting a YZ4. Would be great next to the last belt driven Yokomo, the MR4-BX.

I heard a mouse pass wind over the sound of the car ;)

s22jgs 16-09-2015 10:58 AM

it IS belt drive if thats what you are getting at.

badger5 16-09-2015 11:19 AM

Going by the bodyshell looks like the spur gear is towards the rear, will be very interesting to see the layout.

s22jgs 16-09-2015 11:26 AM

I could tell you as i was sitting next to Carson, but they will release the info when they are ready.

I know :p But the most pleasing for me is that they are racing the car at the moment. Probably working on the latest improvements and a kit setup.

Carson is a great addition for the US market. I hope Amain will take some more stuff in stock now

Yz4

The Maritime rumour mill is on fire!

I grabbed a sneak peak as well and was surprised by a couple of things on car. I have put my ordering in though as it does look supercool!

Now that has brought teasing to a new level you sod, bet it will be good though.

Fozzy1989 16-09-2015 02:48 PM

We may see more Friday if they decide to run it at the Eos which looks likely given all the testing the past few days
