Thanks for the names G but ive noticed thats two names on that list have used lipo's last winter. Will save what ive to say for tonight.

Also if anyone is interested ive BNIP B44 front one way and a mint 501x only used for 3 indoor meetings for sale.

Cockerill 06-09-2008 10:49 AM

I can see 3 names that have used Lipo

Mike Hudson 06-09-2008 10:50 AM

can the members put votes forward for lipo at our agm? I have seen many use lipo at our club including a few of those commitee memebers  this year with no issues and heard mixed answers on whether they were allowed or not which is now clear that they arn't. Allowing lipo may attract more people to the club as it reduces cost for racers or newcomers getting setup

johnboy 06-09-2008 11:04 AM

well said mike i agree with you on that one and iam sure most club members will think the same.

johnboy 06-09-2008 11:06 AM

Also bringing a sanwa m11 transmitter with 2.4mgz to sell £90.

Northy 06-09-2008 12:38 PM

I'm not saying of the decision is correct or not, what I am telling you guys is what was said at the last committee meeting.

It doesn't matter if people have been using them, they shouldn't have been, they have never been allowed.

Someone binned it on the A64.

I nearly threw my Astra off the road coming into Leeds, the road had flooded and I didnt see the puddle(/river!) until I was ontop of it. The drag on the left front almost pulled the steering wheel out of my hands :woot:

a motorbike crashed on the A64.

don't know what happened, just saw it as we drove past.

CraigM2610 07-09-2008 03:43 PM

Oh, I thought you meant an R/C car! :eh?:

I will be taking it up with the committee tonight.

what was the out come? i have 6 new buggy drivers in my area anf york will be our local club, however we are all doing the worksop serries and are all lipo users, knowing lipo were used at york we were going to suport the club, look like now we can not!!

Garry Driffill 08-09-2008 07:35 PM

If precautions are taken to ensure they arent dangerous for example using LIPO charging sacks what is the problem?

Even if there only allowed in Modified.

I remeber seeing a well known face on that list using LIPO last year - I think he knows who he is

Mike Hudson 08-09-2008 09:06 PM

everyone come down to the agm on the 27th of this month and opt to vote for lipo to see if the comittee will change their minds

Col 08-09-2008 10:42 PM

Mike - you can only make decisions at the AGM if you are a member, so turning up to have a say will do no good if you're not ( I know that you are, Mike...)

As it stands now (rightly or wrongly), the rules are the rules and need sticking to.

hi col their is no rule in place its not written down anywhere to say lipo are banned and word of mouth by certain committee members doesnt count when lipo's were in use on saturday by more than one person.

ps will bring you the radio on saturday mate:thumbsup:

hi mark several people were using lipo's on saturday and no problems came from it . after talking to certain members the general feeling is there is no problem with people using lipo's i was using them and it made life so much easier.

Northy 09-09-2008 09:57 AM

I really don't believe what I read on these 'stupid internet forums' sometimes

Im a bit confused about Lipo:bored: Are the same as the old ib's4200 for being volitile? If so surely its a health and safety issue that they shouldnt be used until people know that they are safe and reliable.

Surely they must of been tested for safety by the manufacturer before being released to the general public, for which is they are used in the correct way then should occur no problems.

Like i said i no naff all about them, tho they seem like a good idea but if what i see on here about them blowing up surely someone is gonna get hurt. Which could leave any club in dire straits.

brca TC section has been using them for a year with one incedent and that was somone selecting the wrong chrge profile, if used to manufactures/brca guide line then thay are safer than the IB cells, which the club probably alow even thogh there not on the BRCA EB list, is that correct G??

_sleigh_ 09-09-2008 10:43 AM

Mark, out of interest could you point me towards where I can find any LiPo construction rules that may have been used in TC this year?

mark christopher 09-09-2008 12:04 PM

here
http://www.brca.org/BRCA/elecboard/r...Websitepdf.pdf

lipo list http://www.centralbooking.org/cbs/in...les&Itemid=109

_sleigh_ 09-09-2008 12:07 PM

Good skills. I knew it must be on the BRCA site somewhere but finding stuff on there is a little difficult at times.

Don't worry about the list, I've got that already from PW. (argh, you found it already  )

mark christopher 09-09-2008 12:18 PM

dont forget that saddle are not on the list as all tc use stick format

_sleigh_ 09-09-2008 12:25 PM

Not to mention that the length of two saddles end to end is longer than the maximum length ;)

mark christopher 09-09-2008 01:08 PM

yes but if asked by the off road section to do some rules, the EB are sensible enough to work out what a saddle pack needs to be in dimensions its only mm

_sleigh_ 09-09-2008 01:13 PM

I was only pulling your leg, don't bite so easily.

Northy 09-09-2008 04:06 PM

Guys don't shoot the messenger, I am only telling you what was decided at the committee meeting "Lipo are not allowed at York".

A stupid internet forum is not the place to try and change things if you would like them changing. I suggest you put in a proposal to a committee member and it can then be discussed at the AGM.
