I have made a little progress today.

Found suitable fixings for the front shocks so they could attach to the suspension arms.

Fixed up rest of the electrics including a ko propo ps2000 FET servo and sub c saddle pack. I also fixed the eccentric diff housings. The front belt has been set a little tighter than the rear.

I have also temporarily fixed the undertray though the shell is going to be a little difficult as there are no cut lines. Undertray was hastily cut but I will smoothen this out later. The wing is not the original one but a nice alternative I think.

Transmission feels very smooth. I suspect gearing will be similar to the yz10?

Naushad 09-07-2013 10:51 PM

Right! All finished now!

Using the net as reference I managed to cut the body to fit! I used different pictures to get an idea of the cut lines. It wasn't very difficult.

I had the Adonis repro decals so used what I can for the shell. I think the end result is really impressive! However, I have been working on getting some repro intruder decals printed, and I'm just waiting on some samples to determine the quality.

So stay tuned!

Man that thing looks killer!!!!!

Adam F 10-07-2013 05:57 AM

Looks great! I have the same wheels/hubs/shafts on mine to save the originals as mine is a runner..

Keep me posted on the decals!

Adam F 10-07-2013 06:03 AM

Have you tinted the screen?

BORMAC 10-07-2013 06:19 AM

The body reminds me of the original Yokomo BMAX4.

Naushad 10-07-2013 06:31 AM

Couldn't agree more...turned out with an aggressive styling,

And the paint style really makes it POP in a vintage way.

Naushad 10-07-2013 08:11 AM

Once I get some repro decals done i will let interested ooplers know.

Naushad 10-07-2013 09:29 AM

Yeah I've done the same too...I'm sure I could use them for a yz10!

Another superb build

optiman 14-07-2013 02:07 PM

Very nice build and love the paint scheme.

BORMAC 15-07-2013 01:18 AM

Naushad I prey if you get this stunning machine onto a race track that someone has a GoPro HD or a DSLR camera handy to snap some in action video or snaps.
That would make the risk of damage in any way worth it.

Adam F 24-07-2013 10:10 PM

Any joy on the decals? :) desperate to get mine finished now.... even found some spares for it so I can risk racing it a bit....

I was lucky to have one back in the day, Running in the RRCi Standard series i can remember making many A finals with it, Exeter, Worksop and the finals at Oswestry in one year that helped me pick up a deal with AGR motors at the time. Amazing car and wish i kept it. only have the mag pictures from the race meetings. I ran Yok wheel adapters but also made laydown shock towers from FRP. Wish i never sold it.

Naushad 24-07-2013 11:03 PM

Hi, still waiting to get in touch with some technical bods to get the right type of decal sheet. I will update you ASAP!

Naushad 30-07-2013 07:11 PM

Can you dig out those pics so we can have a look?

I want!

Crashtest33 01-08-2013 09:19 AM

These Tomy Intruders look really well designed and beautifully built!
Did they ever get a driver to get them to the Euros or worlds??

My littlens were thrashing a GX buggy around only this morning. :)

Naushad 01-08-2013 09:36 AM

I think they were successful in some UK titles, but their appearance was ony short-lived.

Jamesk 01-08-2013 07:28 PM

There where no model shops that stocked the cars or parts, but the few that did show up where quick but i seam to remember wheels falling off. Was i big leap in design for sure.

I loved my intruder
I swapped the hubs for yokomo dog fighters
Because the hub nuts was a pain to get hold of
But Graham's pits stop in Northampton used to stock every thing for them
As his son was a team driver
Gpm made ever part in aluminium wish bones hubs etc
It was so much faster than the boss cats and the dog fighters
I've had mine for over 20 years and still the best car I've driven
