durango is a american car so doubt its owed buy anyone other than them

Moose 03-09-2008 02:31 PM

well i thought all "inventions" belong to serpent because Strenge works / worked for serpent. I dont know if it is possible to seperate that easy. this are just my thoughts. i was only talking about the inventions/ patent stuff, not the names sorry.

the 1/8 status is hard to tell as long nobody uses it at the moment

Is Strenge and Neumann no longer in colloboration with Serpent?
that's my question :-P . I dont know any other reason why they should switch to the old name (which is used by dodge) without any serpent statement, without any serpent decals, without 1/8 prototype...
it SEEMS whatever they do it is without serpent

vinny20 03-09-2008 03:23 PM

I cant believe what im hearing this is just bad i really liked the serpent kits

mark christopher 03-09-2008 03:25 PM

think you will find its more rumours and speculation, serpent have simply moved production, serpent is still in holland and working, they have just released the 12th car, the s500 will be after xmass

HVAC25000 03-09-2008 03:26 PM

i don't wanna wait til after christmas!!!!

vinny20 03-09-2008 03:29 PM

Moose 16-09-2008 01:51 PM

i wonder why you are that sure that Serpent is still working on the car.
The durango team on the 1/8 worlds is running without serpent stuff again ... sorry but i cannot believe that they suddenly decided racing without serpent stuff but keep working for them .... :woot:

Answer-RC-Pete 16-09-2008 03:23 PM

I forgot about the Durango boys at the worlds - presume it is just Nueman running?

Lee 16-09-2008 03:31 PM

agreed, i think there has been some goings on over there.

Maybe they dont like Jorn??

Moose 16-09-2008 04:58 PM

yes just neumann. billy easton is running ocm (or something like that). durango was always more or less only neumann with strenge. Neumann is a great driver.you couldn t have a better one... we will see

Lee 16-09-2008 05:06 PM

Are you sure??

Is he world and european champion?

Moose 16-09-2008 06:06 PM

former EC no WC, but Aigion is or was dominating 1/8 for years without winning any important race
I only tried to say this two men team works perfect. Joern would never leave durango and he is awesome fast what more is a private engineer looking for.

Chris Doughty 17-09-2008 09:44 AM

someone is at the worlds with a serpent proto

http://www.neobuggy.net/modules/xcga...s=77&pid=10943

I would asume this is Jorn's because its got an Orion engine in it

Answer-RC-Pete 17-09-2008 10:02 AM

that looks sooooooo far from production.....

Lee 17-09-2008 10:04 AM

It doesnt even have a fuel tank

Moose 17-09-2008 12:23 PM

@doughty: sure thats the durango car. nothing special with the cars itself .... (they were working on it before they joined serpent)
The question is should we call it serpent proto any longer ? :P

@Lee: yes no fuel tank but great RC box

If I remember right, that perticular configuration appeared at the Euros this year as a serpent, and most of the work for it to make it look like that and not like the durango proto used at the Neo and Proline race was done while they were working at/for serpent, surely they can't leave and take the design that was being worked on FOR serpent???

anyway, who actually know  I certainly don't.

mark christopher 17-09-2008 12:48 PM

my source says serpent are still up, running and working on thier new products

Chris Doughty 18-09-2008 10:30 AM

there is still a serpent sticker on Jorn starter box

http://www.neobuggy.net/modules/xcga...s=20&pid=11148

Cruise 18-09-2008 01:52 PM

And at the german nationals there was a big "Serpent motorsport" Sticker on Gerd`s Nissan Navara.

Cruise

Cockerill 19-09-2008 06:54 PM

According to NeoBuggy Jorn is running an AE car at the worlds

Did say AE, now says Durango

Moose 19-09-2008 08:17 PM

thx for all infomation.
but joern is listed with durango on neobuggy!

Moose 21-09-2008 09:29 AM

the 1/8 car is named Durango DNX408 (that doesn t sound much like serpent) ... maybe its just a different name they want to use

Answer-RC-Pete 25-09-2008 10:49 AM

Looks pretty much conformed "Gerd is to continue to develop the car" no mention of serpent here

Pete

bigred5765 25-09-2008 10:51 AM

no

Answer-RC-Pete 25-09-2008 10:54 AM

Confusing post on Buggy Sport stating that they will continue to develop the car with no mention of serpent then it states "we may see the car run at the worlds" which has already been and gone!

jimmy 25-09-2008 11:15 AM

What body is that Carl, it's not the same one as in the photos - so is it an older one?
'team durango' definitely doesn't sound like 'team serpent' to my ears.

Answer-RC-Pete 25-09-2008 11:25 AM

Yeah - sounds like things are a changing - at least for the 1/8th project

Body Paint 25-09-2008 11:29 AM

Looks like a J concepts Thunder Tiger S3 shell

its in the same bunch of piccy's jimbob

http://www.buggy-sport.info/include....sub.php&cid=14

jimmy 25-09-2008 12:24 PM

Ah ok, it's not the shell for that car though - that's in the background and different (less stickers) - unless he's got two? that would be outrageous!! haha

Sebastian 25-09-2008 01:07 PM

Well, if the Buggy-Sport.info notice says "Team Durango" and there are no signs of "Team Serpent" on the current car ... ;)

MattADH 25-09-2008 04:39 PM

From what I saw at the Worlds, there was no mention of the Serpent name.

Yes the Durango looks to have gone forward a step although by the looks of it, more parts are from the Losi 8ight...

Billy was running the TQ Racing car - the Supercross 8!

Chris Doughty 25-09-2008 05:18 PM

Billy didn't see that happy with his rig if you watch his interview on rccaraction.com hehe

Answer-RC-Pete 25-09-2008 05:58 PM

He had been raving about it for the club event before the worlds - its astually pretty sweet in some ways the SX8

right but some pics are made at the neo-buggy race i guess. so they are pretty old. it s a bit confusing ;)
i wonder what will happen to the s400

jimmy 27-09-2008 09:42 AM

The S400 is out there being raced??? or do you mean what will they develop from there?

The S500 has been shelved as far as I know.

Moose 27-09-2008 12:16 PM

sorry. i was talking about the offroad car the S500. the last car driven by joern neumann was a durango (without the plastic serpent s500 parts) ... the old well known durango. so i am anxious to know what this car will finally look like
