Had an email from Champ today, release date late Sept, @19000 yen (@£100), plus a champions upgrade set for 8400 yen (@£45). Not site what's included in the upgrades though!

Spoolio 09-09-2008 06:25 PM

Hmmmm, wonder if it'll come with pozi screws or proper ones? Tis a little point but I detest pozi's. I may have to give one a go at that money .

Champion package,B-Max4 Stabilizer set (Front & Rear),B-Max4 Aluminum front wheel hub (for BX wheel),B-Max4 Titanium turnbuckle shaft set,81T Spur gear,Aluminum king pin set,BX front shock set and BX rear shock set come with this package
Regarding the screws, they are the regular phillips ones, I wonder the BX titanium ones could be used

Do you know if the champions pack also includes the special motor mount? It is listed as an option part!?

albertobdq 20-09-2008 10:01 PM

It's an optional extra! BM-304SS Special motor mount set 3.150 Yens.

The spare parts or optional extras are not ready yet, only the cars. In the following weeks it's expected that they will arrive to shops.

Adi...You're the best! So how was the first laps with you're BMAX??

Adi 29-09-2008 08:41 AM

The detailed report follows...

But i can say, it was like Neil have said on the euro.

"You can drive fast laps, but more of them..."

The car is very easy to drive. The basic set up is great!
I have run it without any modification! Also the original shock oil. (front and rear 400)
Also "Zero Modified" :D

Spoolio 04-10-2008 07:12 AM

Does it have a slipper as part of the kit? Also, the kit doesn't seem to be widely available yet or am I just looking in the wrong places?

Adi 04-10-2008 09:20 AM

Hy Spoolio

Yes, the kit have a slipper. And you can adjust it from outside. It works very well!

I have the kit on stock... ;)

MHeadling 04-10-2008 03:14 PM

Anyone any idea what the aluminium centre link on the options list is? I can't find an equivalent standard part??

Spoolio 06-10-2008 07:24 PM

Hmmm the price is not what I expected .

Adi 06-10-2008 08:27 PM

Hello Dave

They are the SD-TB39 (2pieces in a bag)

traffman 06-10-2008 09:42 PM

Whaddaya mean ? its a 134 quid ! ive spent that on a meal for two!

DaveG28 06-10-2008 10:42 PM

Cheers Adi, how did you shim up the front/rear main shaft by the way, as per the main part f the instructions? Or the inset box?

Spoolio 07-10-2008 01:04 PM

Sorry, I was looking at the bottom link - product 6340 - which MK are retailing at £199.99. This is the one I thought was poor value. I agree the £134.99 is much cheaper but if you want nice dampers - and lets face it we all do - we are going to have to pay for it. My point was that B44's etc already come with this stuff and spares are (inevitably) available everywhere etc etc.

I was going to have a punt but I think I'm going to concentrate on 2WD for the time being.

Lee 07-10-2008 01:37 PM

Have you thought about getting one V mag?

vinny20 07-10-2008 01:52 PM

yes but if i do i will make the car stonger if i can put on ally hubs ect

Lee 07-10-2008 02:10 PM

Have you seen them break much vinny?

would you reccomend ally hubs for all cars?

speedworm 07-10-2008 08:23 PM

Hi,
I took part to the last french national with my B-Max "mounted the night before the race"; the car was so easy and fast. I qualify Third overall. I took easily Third or second place during qualifying heat. That's really the best feeling i never had with a RC Car...congratulations to Yokomo for this job!

tjf 07-10-2008 10:07 PM

Whats so bad about the standard shocks then? Is this going to be Lipo friendly do you think?

Lipo wise, not great, but I'm confident a Trakpower 3200 saddle will go in if you use BX battery posts and a brace that'll fit. Don't see the standard battery holder working, and the top deco may get in the way of 4900's!?

It's also possible Schumacher battery straps will work!

Did you run totally standard car, or use bx dampers etc?

Also for anyone running the car what spur/pinion/motor are you using?

speedworm 13-10-2008 08:41 PM

I use the MR4 BX dampers and that's all. The car is grea and so easy tomake fast lap!!
Kit come with a 87 Teeth spu gear I wuld prefer a 84 or 81 because i was not able to put a bigger pinion than 20teeth. Anon this very slippery track i'd rather use a 21or 22...

speedworm 13-10-2008 08:42 PM

I was using Corally 4800 Lipo Saddle pack into my BMAX for training without any problems; It feets perfectly...

wow, what motor do you run? I was going to use 17/87 on a 5.5, should I go higher?

Adi 15-10-2008 09:20 AM

hy there..

i use the nosram 6.5 (12.5mm) with 87 spur and a 21 pinion.

@Dave
I have shimmed original in the front. and in the rear like the other instruction.
I made it so, that i have try it original. first, it was a bit strong, but i think it was ok..

How have you set up the shocks? Using bx fronts with black springs I'm struggling to get the front low enough?

jasonrcb 25-10-2008 04:12 PM

im going to start off tomorrow with mine on 19/87 with novak 5.5

i have put the associated b4 shocks all round blue front springs and silver rear and the front of the car sits lower so that will be my starting point tomorrow

very pleased with first impressions of the car top job yokomo:thumbsup:

DaveG28 25-10-2008 09:10 PM

Hope it goes well, let us know!

A.J. Gee 26-10-2008 05:20 PM

I just ordered this buggy last night. I am very much looking forward to getting it. What are some of your guys who already own it, opinions about it?
