Thanks, you got PM. :)
Good luck at the championships! |
Found this picture on the JMRCA website. The interesting part is the B-Max2MR/R label to the right. As it seems, there will be two new 2WD kits. I wonder what kind of updates the R will incorporate?

When you look at the lower part of the label, you see two of the red NEW signs, therefore I'd guess there will be two kits. Edit: I was just informed that the MR indeed is a mid and rear motor car, but it remains to be seen if both options are included in the kit. I'm looking forward to hearing more from Sylvain once he is at YTB!
Merci beaucoups!! |
MR may mean mid/rear and the R may mean just rear. Quite a simplistic view, but it could be right.
|
Yokomo
If CML do start distributing all the latest Yokomo kits and parts again then I will have to think about getting new Yoke 2 and 4 wd kits.
|
Here's a proper picture, it is actually MR and RS. Maybe the RS is a low-budget version of the car similar to the cheaper std. B-Max4II (23,000 yens). It is 21,000 yens compared to 28,000 of the current car and 29,190 of the MR, which will most probably include extra gear box parts and accessories like battery mount and rear shock mounts. The chassis in the rear motor car shown here seems to be the same as the mid-motor. Take a look at the antenna mounts, the battery mount and the saddle pack chassis recesses.
Edit: Found both cars for preorder on super-rc.co.jp at very decent prices. The RS indeed seems to have plastic shocks! |
Printing of the boxes can commence! Naoto TQed and won all three A-mains in the 2012 JMRCA nationals in 2WD. In 4WD, he was beaten by Kyosho's Kota Akimoto in 4WD after problems in Leg 1, finishing 2nd in Leg 2 and winning Leg 3.

yes we will have spare back up as well

It's a good news that Yokomo offer a Mid & Rear complete kit.
As Yokomo now is offering the Bmax4 with two chassis and top decks... The Bmax2 on the photo, should be the "MR" version...the chassis is a little bite different from the "Bmax2 Rear" http://img707.imageshack.us/img707/2...omobmax2mr.jpg Wait & see :) |
B-max 2 front wheels
Do the front axles for the B-max 2 allow for any other manufacturers wheels to be fitted, eg associated or Durango etc?
|
The kit axles for metric bearings are 5 mm in diameter (Yokomo and some Tamiya wheels). With the optional Associated wheel axles (part no B2-010FI) you can also use AE or Schumacher front wheels with imperial bearings.
|
Thanks for the answer. I can't wait to get my B-max 2 MR. I am going to risk it. Not risk running a Yokomo as I know they are amazing cars, but risk running one in the UK with probably little or no support. I wish someone in the UK would really get behind and support Yokomo, there's every chance that I would still be running my B-max 4 if someone did.
|
Im sure there will be a few shops in the EU that will support the car. No import taxes and should be fastish shipping.
Im a little like you depending on the local support Ill look at getting one. A local shop does have the TC car and they have been selling the RM and 4wd so Im pretty sure they will get the 2MR |
EU wide support is not bad at the moment and still getting better. I've placed orders with all three teamyokomo.eu branches, all of them are reliable and pretty quick. The few parts I couldn't get from them were available with rc race and drift in Japan and not too expensive either. Thumbs up!
|
Great looking cars.

And im actually quite tempted to try one. |
:wub
+1 I'll get an MR for myself for sure, and my son is looking forward to getting an RS for his birthday. That'll be five B-Maxes on my bookshelf! :D |
Here's hoping they hit the UK shores, really miss the Yokey:(
|
another damn yokomo i have to get.

I like the look of the Bmax2 M - certainly a tempting proposition - as long as a decent spares back-up could be ensured. |
With a shorty servo looks like there will be heaps of room for electrics and may even be able to get a stick pack in there if the battery holder outside lip doesn't go across the chassis (just around the pods)
Hope that front plate is strong as that may take a hammering, good that its replaceable. So there may be and alu one at some point Wondering about the rear T plate or lack there of? The 22 / 210 RB6 take a fair bit of heavy landing there, hope its strong They are my concerns Steering rack looks interesting as well |
No problem with either the front or the rear in my "old" B-Max2 so far, it is pretty much bulletproof!
IIRC, full size lipo with low profile servo has been confirmed already. From the looks of the pics, there might be a little more room in the side pods than in the current car, maybe due to the lack of a stick lipo "tunnel". |
Where can I get one? I really like the look of the mr
|
As yet nowhere. It is scheduled for before Christmas, so we'll have to wait for a few more days or weeks.

Just found out that the RS features a gear diff - time to get lazy again? :D
|
How will the car compare to the rb6.
It is a lot cheaper than the rb6 as well. I am assume Yokomo have found a way of getting round the exchange rate by selling it from another point of origin. |
I don't know if Kyosho's prices are as high just due to exchange rates. In Germany, they are the only manufacturer who tries to charge more than 20 euros for a pair of big bore springs. In my opinion they're either greedy or desperate and in big financial problems...
Cannot comment on the RB-6 other than I don't like the tall front shock tower, but my B-Max2 has been great so far! Don't get my wrong, I used to be a big Kyosho fan, but experiences made with the ZX-5SP front hub carriers/spindles, Ultima SC axles made of cheese and part prices made me think twice when it came to buying another K car. |
please get your pre order in early for bmax2mr
http://www.chubbiescarshack.co.uk/in...product_id=150 as first shipment is limited numbers will doing yokomo part order on Monday so let me know if you require any thing I have only 1 left of the first batch will open pre order for january shipping in next 10 days |
This is a very nice looking car, looks to be the perfect 2wd to me.
Moulded chassis so nothing to bend, and keeps the water/dirt out. Mid-motor but with the motor as far back as possible for decent traction. Fits B4 wheels. Japanese build quality. And only around £200. Something that may finally tempt me away from my X6sq (if it proves itself on UK tracks, and someone else does the setup work for me ). |
Found this on redrc talking about a ball diff not a gear diff in the kit
http://www.redrc.net/2012/11/yokomo-...gy/#more-60135 |
The MR comes with a ball diff and the cheaper RS version comes with a gear diff. I'm guessing both should be interchangeable, for those that want to buy a gear diff as a spare and fit in the MR.
|
Right! Look at the bearing position on the outdrives of the ball diff, they are located more on the outside than on the original B-Max2 ball diff.
|
There'll be an upgrade kit for the old car. I wonder whether I should upgrade or just buy the new body for the rear motor car as I want to have a separate mid-motor car anyway...
